[GUIDE] Multi Client VMware setup for any game (pic.s included)

Seriously this has been VERY HELPFUL! Sadly my Intel Core duo can't handle the VM Ware, so im going to wait till a new version of it comes out :D

Edit: I'm still trying to figure out how i can Adjust Vmware to where it doesn't demand soo much. Is there anything to do?

Did you do any of the tweaks in my 3rd post?

what is the required specs to to this? my pc specs is dual core, 1.5 ram, 5500video card....

Hmm it I can confirm this works. (Am running it now.) However I it is very laggy due to my dodgy GFX card. Thnx for the guide.

A version 2 of the beta should be out soon and they (VMware) say it will have much better framerate and not so laggy... I'll probably rewrite the guide when they release the new version.

i am on ati x1250 where i can find whats equivalent to threaded optimization in ati catalyst

Unable to open kernel device "\\.\vmci": The system cannot find the file specified. Did you reboot after installing VMware Workstation?
Module DevicePowerOn power on failed.

can anyone help?

You should NOT install any drivers inside the guest at all. The drivers installed inside the guest are a gateway for your host drivers to function. So in affect you're drivers in the guest are the same as your host.

I rebooted after installing VMware, VM Tools, Cabal, etc.. I reboot just about after everything I do/did with VMware related shit.

VMware Workstation Beta 6.5 Version 2 was just released. I'm downloading it now. There was promise that version 2 of the beta is supposed to have MUCH better graphics and less slow down. I may make a new guide for beta 2 and include common issues and resolutions so that you don't have to read all 12 pages of this thread. I've lost a lot of interest in Cabal over the last week since cabalrider has basically shit itself and hasn't worked for a long time for me.

If you're adventuresome or want a better/newest version I suggest you download the new beta (you will have to re-register but use same community account email). I would suggest a uninstall and then install the new. Make new guests as well.

iono when ur gona have ur beta 2 guide but yea , i have used the beta 2 program. i can seem to only login and come to the character screen (to choose)
the char doesnt pop up ( the pix) and the Virtual machine crashes and the thing shuts down, the program is still open but the VIr machine isnt. do you know the problem?
