Every single pet is bugged. Basically, it runs off into the distance and doesn't pick the items. You can go to Samarkand ong area with a pet (use a reverse scroll to get to the grinding area - easiest way to recreate).

I was using SBOT and can be some compatibility issue. Tried PHBot as well to see and that bot failed to parse the spawn packet.

Initially the pick pet may start to pick your items but at some point it starts running off in the distance somewhere.

well i have found the bug behind this pick pet bug , it will be fixed today , no worries ;) .
