This seems to be a common problem for most people. Matter of fact i had this problem when I first started and took days to find the answer. Best I can offer you is if you have NVidia's control panel in your system tray (a green NVidia icon) then you will probably have to go in to it's settings and disable the multi threading options. The default is Auto and if you have a multi core processor (which you should for VMware) then it will turn itself on. This must be off. If you don't have NVidia's control panel in the system tray or running then I suggest trying to disable any overclocking software you may be using for video. RivaTuner is safe since it doesnt have any option to use multi threading.
This is what you do to disable it:
Right click the green NVIDIA Control Panel.... screw explaining through words. I'm going to make a visual guide and post it in the third post. Give me about an hour or less.
