As for bow you can also load hw.bs (skeleton) and delete all unnecessary joints (of course you should keep hierarchy). You should leave Bone03, 05, 06, 19, 20, 43, 44, 45 and 04. Then file->merge and open your new model. Select all objects on scene and Character->Bind. Now you dont have to worry about weights. But I would also recommend to select Weight Tag (from your object) and on Joint Tab delete Bone04, Bone20, and Bone46 - they are not needed anymore.
One more note: new chaoskit has small bug. When you open skeleton - first joint Bip01 is rotated. You have to select it and set rotation PHB to 0 (bottom of the screen).
