perry noticed that at Venture. Synx noticed that at Myth. They both left the community.
Whenever, somebody goes and tries to do soemthing awesome, nobody gives a shit. Thus, I ain't giving a shit either.
I never said anything about the haters specfically. I'm saying that its the players themselves. Out of those 2.5k players.. around 300 are "ok". It's simply not enough.

Akasch, it was sad to see that you suddenly feel this way, although I cannot blame you for the decision that you've made. A lot of the people do appreciate the work that you've put into this server, however many do not realize how busy you actually are as a person as they have no insight into your life.
They might be thinking that you're swimming in money pools, whereas we both know - it's not the case. I know for a fact that you're continuously working on multiple issues at once, yet very few people are aware of "what goes on beyond the scenes". The pressure that's on your shoulders is gigantic, you have to deal with too many things at once. No one realizes that there's pretty much 3-5 people who have full access to the server (ability to see logs, make decision regarding bans, etc).
I wish that more people were able to see the amount of work that you've put into this server, yet it's not really possible for them to do so. They're just here to play and enjoy themselves, worry about their own guild/game issues and at the end of the day - just relax.
It's only logical and natural for the amount of players to decrease; it happens anywhere on everything! Look at the technology for example, everyone wants the latest gadget because it's so popular and cool, inovative and after a while people get bored of it. It's how the world works, there's not much that you can do about it.
Even right now as I am writing this post - there's 2927 accounts logged in; sure initially we've had a few hundred more players but as I've said - it's only natural for the amount of them to decrease. 3K players is still a huge amount of players, you should be happy with that Akasch.
You've also mentioned that there's only 15% of "decent people", wasn't this always the case in any of SilkRoad servers? Even the Joymax servers. I've never seen a single server out there which had more decent players than "a bunch of idiots" so to speak.
You've mentioned that we're going to get 1 update per week - I think it's perfectly reasonable, you'll finally be able to relax and get some of that stress off from your shoulders. Perhaps later on you'll feel more motivated, but we'll just have to wait and see.
TL;DR - Ignore the haters, they are everywhere in modern day society. Be proud of what you've achieved thus far - having a player base of what ~3000-5000 people is not enough? Cmon dude, that's a huge achievement to be proud of! Also, I really like what Steamstore said:
GRATTITUDE is shown way LESS than CRITICISM.
