Uminchu - Auto Fishing Bot

I don't think it's possible to bind Confirm to left mouse in FF14. The default is Numpad0. Cancel default is NumpadDot. Subcommand Menu is NumpadMult

I took a look and DX9 is collecting without issue, so it is likely a keybind issue.

[edit] If the mooch thing is the same as Krude describes below, that seems to be a bug which I'll work on soon.

There's currently a problem with keybinds. I'm using standard setup (so Shift +2 and Shift + 3 for hooksets) and it seems when he game window isn't in focus, the Shift modifier doesn't go through.

I was using Patience to fish, and noticed that i lost some fish when the game was in the background. This was because the bot wanted to use precision hookset (Shift + 2), but instead used Hook (2). When a heavy tug occurred, the bot was hammering on Mooch (3) instead. As soon as i brought the game window back into fcous, it worked again.

I experimented a little and left the game in the background during a a Patience tug and wrote random text in another window. The moment the bot tried to hook a fish, it capitalized the letter i was currentl writing. So it seems the Shift modifier gets sent to the currently active window, and not neccessarily the game window.

(This was tested in DX11 if it makes any difference)

Do you have limit background fps enabled? Can you try with it disabled?

The previous method was tested to work with it enabled, but it must be pressing keys too fast with the changes now. I'll add it to the list of things to check out.

Limit Background FPS was disabled when i tested the above. I usually play with a 30 FPS baseline limit though. (Which usually means 20-25 FPS since my PC is ancient)

Okay, I think I know the reason so it should be a straightforward fix. Thanks for the info.

.....

Well, I learned a lesson about coding for something I can't test. :) Most known issues are fixed. I was always bothered by the modifier key thing, so I'm quite happy with this improvement.

To do: support global hotkeys. Might be some time before I can knock that out, so I wanted to get this fixed version (weather/time/background keys) out before then.
  • 0.116.10.25
    • Updated pointers for 3.41. (x86: Map, Time. x64: Map, Time, Weather)
    • Explicitly defined UI font to fix goofy display on some versions of Windows (probably).
    • Fixed hotkeys blanking out after reattaching.
    • Fixed and improved background hotkey sending. Hotkeys will be sent to the client in the background even if you are holding down modifier keys! It will still pause until you release hotkeys if the client has focus.

  • 0.216.10.28
    • Added automatic self updating! This is ambitious, but hopefully it makes pushing out frequent updates less of a nuisance for all of us.
    • Leave the exe name as uminchu.exe for best results. Right now, the title will have some debug info is something goes weird. This will probably go away.
    • I've pushed an update on day zero with no consequential changes to test the feature.
    • You can disable updates in the ini file [Settings] section. Set OptUpdatesOn=0.

Small problem: After an update, when it tries to start the bot back up again, it'll fail when the path to the bot executable contains any spaces, like D:\Games\Final Fantasy XIV\uminchu .

The update itself though seems to work fine.

Thanks for checking it out! After one more update, I should be able to fix that. Did you get a batch file prompt with the error or did you just realize the problem?
10/28/2016 16:22 KrudeMetal#69
It threw up an error about the path not existing (it was cut off after the Final in my example), and after that i checked the .bat file in the directory. Probably just needs some quotation marks.

Pushed out a tiny update. Should fix the above problem from now on (not this time, since update script is internal). Thanks as always :)

Just tested on the 3.45 update with latest download and I'm also getting the same problem. Here's hoping for a quick fix :)

Sorry guys, I didn't know about the patch. I'll do this after work today (about 8pm JST).

[edit] DX9 out, very lightly tested.

Thanks, seems to be working so far under 3.45 DX9! The self-updating feature worked perfectly too.
