They are jealous in my opinion, but if you cant protect your server from DDos you shouldnt have a server. :D

As you said is just for small servers, they have a limit of connections..

Actually the problem is not the ddos attacks, are the exploits.

None of those 3 listed reasons. Sometimes it is because of money , ask someone to pay you or you will DDoS his p-server. I Know a live example ;)
