Get rid of Avast, it's the most sucking crap ever. A good one for free would be [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. No extra fuzz, clean interface, small footprint and still based on good Bitdefender engine. Note: if you don't live in a region where you may use this free version, then the website will default to it's homepage. You can find the setup elsewhere legally, no prob. Just need to edit the setup xml files to remove all languages except English. Otherwise you would only see Romanian as default language. Google complete solution, it's there on the bitdefender forums somewhere.

On topic: you could have found globaled and the other one just a topic away on this forum without google though! :rolleyes:

Avast has never let me down in the many years of using it, and trust me, I know what it is like to get a virus, I have fixed many, many peoples computers who had viruses so bad, it took me hours to fix them.
On my system avast is not even noticeable, uses only a small amount of processes.
You do know that every system is different, and specially with virus/firewall protection software, what works for one computer, may not with another as well.

One friend brought me his computer that he just bought to tune up for him and avast blue screened his system, so he elected to use NOD32 and actually paid for the thing.

But as I said, if it is not broke, do not fix it, and I sometimes tend to end up in the deep web, and avast has caught everything thrown at it since I got this laptop a few years back.
Just because it thought globalED was a virus is no reason to scrap it out.
I am pretty sure bitdefender would have done the same thing, and if not, IMHO, that is a huge sign.

I would rather have a false positive on something like globalED than not to be honest.

But for those who come to me and have me fix their stuff, I will look into your points about bitdefender.
I have noticed a few people here in support of using it and many of you are much more smarter than I will ever be, so your point is well taken.

I don't know why people do diss on Avast though, I think it is pretty decent.
On just about every system I have put the free version on for people, it uses very little resources, and as I said, it has never ever let me down.
No one has ever come back to me yet, and have gotten a virus and everyone and their brother comes to me to fix their systems and check them out when they first buy them.

Since we are completely off topic, I will end this with a shout out to DFX Audio Enhancer.
One of the best system Mods ever built that I have ever happened to come across.
Warning though, if you do not have good speakers, you may risk frying them as it adds at least 40% better sound to even the worst computer out there.

I have a junk Toshiba winXP laptop, that I got for $5 because the screen was fried.
I have it hooked up as my audio/video system, to a 35 year old RCA TV that has an S-video hook up and sound hookups, which I have also added external speakers to as well.
Streaming movies with it is simply amazing, considering how old everything is.
When you are as dirt poor as I am, you do what yah have to, to get by.
I have about $35 wrapped up in the whole entire system.

DFX is one sweet little app.
Sometimes I stream my ASUS's sound through the TV set up, while playing NFSW and crank it up, it's it's funny as heck sounding, almost too real because of how DFX adds so much bass and virtual sound enhancements.

Sorry for getting so long winded.
I tend to get that way when my meds kick in.

NOD32 used to be a very good engine years and years ago. Somehow they fucked up and nowadays it can't compete any more with the top like Kaspersky, Bitdefender etc.

You can have a malware internet proxy running on your system spitting out porn and ads pages while Avast not even noticing it. Seen this several times at customers unfortunately, which made me keep away from it ever since.

Well GlobalEd is nothing more than an advanced file editor, no reason to mark it as a virus, and Bitdefender doesn't spit a false positive on it. Same for vtl-ed.

Problem just is that it does that too often, making common users with little knowledge scared without reason, while real nasty shit (like the proxy i mentioned) doesn't get noticed. Back to topic: the purple dots races are fun! Some have no blue fences so you can drive out of the map and back on the track, resulting in being unable to finish.. BUT the AI cars will finish and you can follow the pack to wherever they want to drive off after the race! Some just stay around at the finish line, others you can follow quite far. Feels like multiplayer again somehow :p

Frankly, I had Kaspersky on a system years back and it let all kinds of viruses into my system.

I have antimalewarebites and also Sbybot/S@D, which I do not have running, but do a deep system search, every month or so and they rarely find anything.
I dont go anywhere where I really am that concerned about stuff though.
Plus, I just run Glary at least 3 times a day to keep the temp files and cookies cleared off.
Do a reg clean every so often as well.
I am convinced it alone, is one reason why my system is always running so decently, learned that years ago, I love the program.
A friends laptop had this self install bull that came with the laptop he bought and nothing I did, even trying to remove it manually worked, as it kept coming back.
As I said, I am not as smart as you guys, but somewhat decent enough.
Glary found it, and I was able to stop the self install, every time the laptop booted up, as I said, it was some "speed up my pc/anti virus" bull that came with a brand new ACER laptop, instantly began to scan, and began to find nonsense and tried to force the user to buy its product.
Now that I think about it, I could have probably found it in the Microsoft start once reg.
But I was drinking that day and forgot all about checking there.
Damn, he just left too, but will be back tomorrow, so I will check it manually there, just to make sure it is gone for good.
Brand new laptop too.

I dont have those, is it something I missed as a Mod we have to add in?
I just barely been here, and more interested in learning the dev stuff than playing the game right now, as the game in mine now, and I have all the time I want to play it, but yah, I seem to have no purple dots in my map.

I think once Barkey releases 1.8 beta and it has less bugs and more content, the Mods may clean up these threads and begin to enforce the much needed clean up, if you will.

I wish I was able to do what he can do, that would kick so much azz.
I think doing that, is much more fun than actually playing the game.

They know full well in EA what is going on here.
I am willing to bet, it was one of the devs, who posted those much needed files early on, that made the whole thing possible.

I cant help but say, that the game is great, and I am sure when the Dev's were fired, it broke their hearts.

To be honest, the latest racing games to have come out are pure junk compared to this game.

Unfortunate I could not find it in google drive.
I did find "unlock all tracks" in these forums and added them in.
Over written the other files, and then even tried deleting them and fresh adding in the new files.

All the tracks show up now, however, the purple ones are not clickable.
I am I missing something?
Or did I add in the wrong files?

Even restarted the game a few times, still can not click the purple ones.

Chicken Run is Back :D

Just teleport to the nearest blue event in the area. Then drive the last part to get there. They are not clickable on the map, but once you reach a spot you can join the event. You will see on the minimap to the right that they also have different icons. Some event spots are weird and seem to be half sunken into the road or missing the spinning thing on top, so you just see a spiral on the road. This game was really left under construction from one day to the next...

Does anyone have the file basic hard opponents?????????????

Lol, I just skimmed the whole entire thread again for knowledge and how could I miss something so obvious as just driving to the area?
Never the less, reading this thread is quite entertaining, somewhat helpful in what can and can not be done at this point, and somewhat helpful on how some have figured out how to add in things like the particles and such.

I really have enjoyed our discussions as well.
I don't have very many real friends and spend the majority of my time alone, which is why I tend to ramble, in the threads lately.

Sad that EA seemed to have scrapped the game from the very beginning though, considering all the unfinished tracks.
No clue why, when it is so unique and so much fun in multiplayer.
Low end computers can play it, those who cant afford high tec stuff and the ability to waste huge amounts of money on every game that comes out, etc.
I bet over half the games sold this year sit on a shelf and not even played because those who bought them, got bored instantly.
As I said, I almost bought The Crew or Project Cars, which would have caused me to go w/o simple everyday things for a month, so glad I did not and so glad we have YT.

Hell, they could reopen it, everything unlocked, and charge $5 a month, and that would at least pay for the server and small team to keep it functioning.
Maybe only a few thousand would pay to play, but it is what customer satisfaction is all about.
Heck, people even still play COD4, even though there are better versions.
EA is run by some total idiots, yah they are millionaires, but even Mcdonalds is smart enough to offer a dollar menu, to milk off the poor ppl and feed them too.
