Kids need lives outside.
Teenagers speed so little time outside anymore, as does most of the world.
Kids do, normally, so let them.
What if your kids WANT to learn it, seeing that you do it and as their father they are idolizing you? You don`t have to teach them 24/7, maybe 1-2 hours a day, and it will surely pay off in school (talking from experience, not C++ though).
