[Tutorial] ArcheAge VMWare open several times

10/24/2014 19:55 MinorDetail#46
I got it working by copying all the files from my host to my guest in VM.

Then make sure i changed all the settings incl. the .vmx (using monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"). Then do the regedit and change some of the registerkeys to match my host. Like for example the company is NVIDIA not VMware and such. Deleted the ASC folder in the hackshield and updated it as administrator, put the glyph client as administrator run only.

I changed my network to Bridged and I got stuck with the disconnect problem after a minute or 5. I am trying to get this resolved atm.

The order I did it in was this:

- Clean install
- Activate Windows
- Install DirectX
---- restart
- Change .vmx before starting again (using ONLY monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true")
- Installed the video drivers by unpacking the drivers from tools.
- Changed the regedit to match my host.
---- restart
- Copied my Documents\ArcheAge folder to VM
- Copied my Glyph folder to the guest VM
- Deleted the Hackshield ASC folder
- Run HSUpdater as administrator
- Set Glyph to only run as administrator
---- restart
- Run the game and get disconnected at server choosing haha.

UPDATE: Whatever I seem to do, I cannot get passed the server selection. I did before but not anymore though. Just disconnecting me almost instantly. Dang gods of archeage!

Are you Using Bridges Network?

or the NAT Option in VMware?

Used both and getting the disconnect problem on both.

UPDATE: I've read somewhere that people who do not have a certain Windows update installed get the same error. Trying to install all the updates atm to see if this is going to fix it. Will keep you guys posted.

I finally got it to work on my end. By following the guide here

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

On the first page and the second page. The issue I'm having is after a few minutes my game just locks up and freezes Vmware and I have to force stop the virtual machine to make it unhang. I've yet to figure out why it's doing that. If it doesn't hang after a couple minutes as soon as I get into a town it hangs automaticly no matter what. So its pretty much unplayable.

adding the monitor_control.disable_directexec = "true" is making my virtual machine basicly horridly slow. When i get rid of this it runs smooth and perfect. Maybe that is what is doing the same for you! :)

Why not simply use Sandboxie? haha
10/26/2014 00:15 MinorDetail#54
Cause on does not simple take the easy way out! Hahaha.

Btw everyone I got it to work, all it needed to do was run the Windows Updates. Not all up until today but at least the first batch of massive amount of updates. :) Hope this will help most of you as well. See page 5 for the steps I took to get atleast passed the hackshield! :D Have fun out there.
