[PETITION] Adding a Ban Penalty

09/02/2009 17:06 Phenol#46
I think a ban for one infraction would be a little extreme. If your intention is to keep newbies from joining and participating then by all means ban on one infraction.
I was a lurker on this site for a long time before I finally decided to join. It took me a long time to join because many of you can be very intimidating. My first post was in the wrong section. I was worried that my question would be lame and I was nervous and distracted I posted it in the wrong section. I got laughed at and flamed but I learned my lesson. I'm not sure I need to be banned too.

Personally, I am tired of noobs who do not read (or just choose to not follow the rules) and post questions in the Exploits, Hacks, etc. area. I have noticed the mods when they tell new people that they won't give them an infraction or anything, just because they are new. However, I think we should change the rules and make it so that, no matter how new or old you are, if you post a question in the no question area, you are instantly banned.

Doing this will help with noobs who probably shouldn't be hacking anyway. It will also make the mods' jobs easier, since those noobs will be gone and they won't have to move threads and such. And it makes the forums cleaner and more organized because it will reduce spam and useless posts.

Reply with comments, concerns, questions and vote if you agree or not!
hmmm i am gonna go with no cus this is stupid u said any one new or old ok, how about this u have 130000000000000+ posts right? u got super high rep everyone licks ur nuts etc.... but then u accidently post in the wrong section and bam ur instandly banned isint this kinda unfair even older people make mistakes and to come up with a rule like instand banning is not nice cus everyone startet off as a nub in hacking and worked him self up so yah don do this cus nubs will later become pros just give out warnings which is more fairly and make them read the rules x.x

glad to see that yes votes are winning, and no i dont think that 1 infraction should bann ppl but repeating same mistakes on daily bases is most definent bann, expample 2moons1cup posted "lunareclipse is a scammer" one time and got closed, second time and got closed and now third time and waiting for close, the point is to prevent idiots spamming like that he and his kind should get bann

I DISAGREE 100%

no no1 should be banned for posting in the wrong section...
the reason is that THERE SHOULD BE NO WRONG SECTION
I don't know who came up with the idea, but it is very very stupid saying that there is a question section and a release section in the first place

just to update you guys on how a forum is supposed to work:
1. A person creates a thread on something interesting
2. other members read the post try w/e out and then as questions or add info on THE SAME THREAD.

guess why there are so many threads with the tittle "Does CRC work?"
the reason is that members are FORCED to make them
those threads should not exist in the first place
they should be on the same "CRC release" thread
In fact the question section should be completely empty...

I say dump the question section on a trash can and make the Exploits section the:
"2Moons Exploits Discussion"
and mabie a
"2Moons Everything Else Discussion"

if the change doesn't work then take the Question section out of the trash can and put it back

not gonna happen, the forum is trying to be organised to find stuff easier, if there would be onyl 1 section and everyone could past releases and stupid ass questions in the same thread then there would be no point in searching beacuse one section would be overloaded with questions and releases that would make releases get lost and that would cause people to just ask more and more questions beacuse they cant find what they are looking for

the forum rules are simple and easy to understand, if someone cannot read and see that it is written in RED LETTERS that it is a no question section i say BANN him and i say bann him for life, ban him and his neighbours and couple towns arround just to make sure he wont use somebodies elses computer to register again

You can't blame the noobs just because most releasers can't follow their own advice
They should learn were the edit button is and actually update the release post with answered questions to PREVENT questions.

And about the "not1 gonna be able to find anything"... that's BS if the mods would remember that they can stiky posts everything could be found in the first few stikyed posts and the search button would be barely used

How will banning one person stop the next new guy from posting in the wrong section?
09/14/2009 01:23 ~Kakkarot~#55
it wont, BUT, if you ban each guy that does that i can asure you that people will catch on and figure the rules out ^^

nah lol im not saying that we should ban for 1 mistake but criteria should definetly be lowerd
09/14/2009 05:54 Merovingian#56
Maybe a 2 week ban or something smaller would suffice. Why perma-ban?
09/14/2009 15:09 ~Kakkarot~#57
hmmm actualy thats a good idea 2 week ban or less and if he presists with braking the rules just increase the punishment untill the final bann
09/14/2009 15:22 Vaidas B#58
i think there is a 1-week ban for braking the rules, and it will work as an example for the next guy that wants to post
09/14/2009 16:24 ~Kakkarot~#59
i know there is a timely bann but you can brake so many rules to actualy get that bann beacuse there are warnings then infractions and then ban
