hmm, i thought pattern searchers would remain working if nexon/devcat doesn't know what kind of pattern you are using? it would probably have lasted forever if it remained private. now that it is public, wouldn't that give them a specific target to patch against?

that's why you search for the function and see it's general scope right now, and note it down.
Unless Nexon completely change the function, the pattern should be somewhat similar.

You are over reacting. I hate to say this, but life works this way in almost every aspect. It's why people have jobs and certain professions. Not every one is a baker. Not everyone is a doctor. Not everyone is a programmer. Not everyone wants to learn these things.

Normally others pay others for their expertise. However, when you have a case like this, it stands to reason that some people will be greedy and use it for their own gain. Yes, it sucks, but it's unavoidable. Can you imagine if every single doctor decided that you didn't deserve to be treated because you have no medical health expertise? Probably a poor example.

What I am saying is, even if someone doesn't know how to patch it, doesn't mean they don't want to learn how, and even if they didn't want to learn how, maybe they are just interested in learning about packets.

Example, myself. I am glad this was released, it's a great experience for me. I am always interested in learning new things. This was something I have been wanting to learn about for a while, but anytime I tried looking, things where password protected and such. It was kept private for the most part. I am not even using it to exploit the game either, I am just using it to experiment.

So even if some are greedy, not all of them are. Keep in mind though, I have no idea how to patch these things. So, I must not be worthy to use it, according to you.

BTW, I figured I might as well ask this since I am posting anyway. When accessing inventories the VIP slot needs to be unlocked to actually pull anything from it? I noticed I can't pull any of my items out, so I am assuming it's locked on the server side, which would make sense. Just asking to clarify if it's possible or impossible. If it's possible, just tell me so and I am sure i can figure it out. If it's impossible, well then, I will stop trying xD.

Edit: Just noticed this is actually my second post here.
So, you want to use a poor example. Would you like him to charge $190 an hour for all the coding that went into his patcher? That's the current rate a doctor charges here... He's saying that it's only fair that people are willing to contribute to the community and there are far too many people who come on these forums and go all "QQ muh gamz bez brokn plzfixnao." Those are the problem people. Those are the people who don't deserve to have a tool such as pake or anything similar to it. If an update takes out stuff from a patcher instead of crying "It's broken" why not go and turn features off and on to figure out what is broken and needs updated to not put that burden on the creator solely? I don't get why the people with knowledge about this stuff asking for people to show some initiative and concern for the community as a whole makes us look like complete assholes and like we're holding everything back and not helping. I personally stopped helping the "community" when people started expecting me to get on teamviewer to troubleshoot the simplest shit that was probably in the OP of the patcher they were using... It's bullshit... people need to learn and stop weighing us down :rtfm:

Troubleshooting for the community, was always rather like this:

"Have you tried removing your data folder?"

the world already works like that. No insurance. gtfo. secondly if you want to mod you should have at least a basic knowledge. now im not saying you should learn c++ assembly or drupel or anything like that but a basic knowledge would help you kids a lot. right now all i see is gimme gimme gimme but you do not have the skills to actually contribute. and i know for a fact that if you talk to these evil people who are trying to keep thier work from getting 100% patched that they might shine some light into your mushroom habitat so you can grow and learn. again something kids these days dont know how to do unless it is with a silver spoon.

you realize you are comparing apples and oranges. also this happens already its called your insurance. when you grow up you will learn about this. magical horrible thing called health insurance and how a doctor will not work on you unless they give the ok. which can take MONTHS. and then you have to deal with settlements cause all of the sudden your health insurance doesn't want to pay the 20k that is owed to the doctor cause the doctor didnt use the authorized pain killers. and yes. what i said is 100% true. it is from experience. but back to coding. coders get paid per hour. they dont get to choose what they want to do and what they dont want to do. they are told to come up with a way to complete task A and task B they have an entry hourly rate if you are certed and what not of 150-200 per hour depending on the company. some go down to 75$. when a coders hard work is patched specially the ones that put alot of effort into it they loose what is called the drive. you know that drive to keep it going. i have seen many coders who's work has been patched because of nexon's patching for people who like to abuse it. so i really dont blame them for being pissed at you kids for it.

you should learn it. learning is good. it helps you grow as an individual. besides by you learning it. you might find another method and then have your work exploited like blades and lay's are today. then maybe you will understand the rage.

it is kept private for the worlds safety. you realize this. ya? pake holds so much more potential it is sometimes scary to think about it.

if you read some of the things he has said. he doesnt want his work to be abused like this. patching this crap is hard enough. last thing he needs is a patch every other day to keep it in check.

and the truth comes out. you just want to really leech. you dont really care about how it works or why it works you just want its perks. (ha it rhymed in my head) and this is what is pissing the people who write patches off. that the hard work they put alot of free time into is getting abused by people who do not care. and you know i am wondering how would you people react if blade/lays/whoeverelse writes a patch started to charge a monthly fee for their work. that would be funny to watch.

tl;dr

o.o; I got some errors while trying to compile this on my own it says that:

Error 1 error MSB8008: Specified platform toolset (v110) is not installed or invalid. Please make sure that a supported PlatformToolset value is selected. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\Platforms\Win32\M icrosoft.Cpp.Win32.Targets 511

Error 2 IntelliSense: cannot open source file "SDKDDKVer.h" c:\users\jose\downloads\elitepvpers\elitepvpers\al issafix\src\alissafix\targetver.h 8

Error 3 IntelliSense: cannot open source file "windows.h" c:\users\jose\downloads\elitepvpers\elitepvpers\al issafix\src\alissafix\stdafx.h 12

is SDKDDKVer.h something I need to install, what is it exactly? ( Sorry, I'm not very good with C++, I know it's a header file but I mean where do I get it and why wasn't it already included in project file? )

Did you read any of the last few posts..? People don't want to be handing things out. Try using Google, it's a very powerful tool.

Can somebody please help me? For the client sided teleport, can somebody give me an example. For this example, can it be teleporting to Tir Chonail? Can you also tell me what I put in the "Code" box and the "ID" box. Sorry for making you guys "Spoon-feed" me. I'm kinda new to Mabinogi hacking.
