Guys please read the guide. I have in bold underlined... VMware 6.5 is new and the focus of the company with this version was to greatly improve the gaming specifically the DirectX. 6.5 is the only VMware version (for PC) that supports DirectX 9 which you need to play cabal. :sigh:

i've already installed 6.5 build 91182 same as yours... but still no luck on making it work... i dont know whats the problem...

i've run dxdiag in my guest OS and under the display tab Direct3d Acceleration was disabled and in the notes it gives me an error:

1. The file vmx_fb.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

2. DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.

3. Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

is this normal?

NOTE:VMWARE Tools is already installed

I haven't ran diag since I've had no problems at all. However all that appears to be correct. The drivers for the VMware are not digitally signed by Microsoft because these are not final drivers. Hopefully when you installed this you told windows to install drivers anyway otherwise you will need to reinstall and let the drivers install.

What are your system spec.s on the host?

Awesome! Glad to see those on torrents. I'll add to my guide. First though, let me know if it includes the serial or some bypass method.

Your machine should be fine.

Only suggestion I have for you is to uninstall any VMware products you have on your machine. Start over fresh. Also make sure to have the newest drivers for your vid card from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].

Make sure you have VMware Workstation 6.5 Beta either from registering and downloading from the link in the guide or using a torrent that Siion posted a few posts up. Make sure to use a serial for 6.5 Beta. When you install it will ask you about other serials you may have used for other versions, delete them. Start as fresh as you can. Of course restarting comp. after uninstalling any current versions you have.

well sad to say it doesnt work for cabalsea.....xtrap problem?

the program i used is actually nameless, one of my old friends made it a while back and passed it out to random people. if i can get ahold of him i'll ask permission to distribute it, he might not want it out in public. havent spoke to him in over a year though so no promises.

phatal yeah dual cores give low 3dmark scores sadly, but i have no intentions of switching to a quad or anything else until this blows. currently i've backed all my OCs down to very near stock running only 2.7 on my cpu, as i was experiencing some bluescreens (due to bad creative drivers) and well honestly i didnt need the extra power in the first place so theres no need to strain my rig, that and the 100 degree weather in late spring is high, summer is gonna kill. still a great OC on air.

scenario on my VM:
estimating 10secs to login in cabal rider. then start game.
estimating 15-20mins to load before i reach the login interface.
estimating another 10mins to reach server choice interface.
estimating another 15-30mins again before reaching the map.
then..
bluescreen of death !

my specs:
athlon 64x2 6000+

winXP sp2

Hey, So far i've gotten Cabal to come up to loading screen and after that it doesn't work. Any idea why?
06/10/2008 19:06 Kimnazk#59
Why not just make a new user on your Windows XP, it works great here and no need to install VMware. Just use fast switch between the accounts and you can start a new client there and run from the same folder

Takes only 3min to do

I finally got the game to work but im getting a error mid way of starting VM workstation.
