Yes it takes a long time to repair, if you already had XI and up to date you dont need to do that step. It takes a long time cuse its 10gb and a lot of files.

As for login, you need to use mxi or ffxi-boot, stop opening playonline, follow the instructions.

Ok, I've Googled this everywhere and getting conflicting information, so can one of you clever lot correct me? :handsdown:
I've grabbed FFXI + all expansions from somewhere...
The thing is, I've managed to install all of it, then had to uninstall POL and install the Vista compatible version (it wouldn't let me install it over the top.)
I'm trying to get on the FerrumXI server, but for the life of me cannot find FFXI or anything like it in the Check Files drop down box, only POL and Tetra.
Please please help, I'm totally stumped. I've tried uninstalling, grabbing different versions and everything. Any real reliable sources if that's the problem?

if it doesnt show up then its not installed correctly.

Thanks fragfox, thought that might be the problem, but wasn't too sure. Will try and grab a decent version.
Just wondering, is there any way to confirm what version CD/DVD anything came from? Is there an .ini or anything like that so the wrong expansions' version can be picked out?

Is there any way around registering for POL?

Found a way, instead of clicking start playonline registration, choose for playonline members. Then make your id ABCD1234 and use fake info for the rest.

You can't check the files without registering or having a way to get in through the members, or having an account on there. I'm using the windows 7 version I don't know if you're using the same, but I couldn't check files until I made that fake account.

ye "fake" account is enough and if you want speed up the process first download all updates from torrent (it cut time for me from 8h to 2h :) )
