Maybe the server isn't installed right. When it happens, after you click on "Start Server" or "Start NFS-W" ? Which Operating System do you use? (Windows XP/7/8/10).

Mabye these questions should help to find the problem. :)

Edit: Have you the actual Java-version (60 or later)? Maybe you have an older one...
I followed
-- that tutorial. and i didnt try to restartt after python installation

i havve windows 10 and the problem comes from a CMD propmt that opens when i click start server. and then it says cant find nfs.exe you have to find it manually. and idk how to target it with the launcher

Can confirm it all works in Win7 x86.

I found a small bug though: The regular edition of the DBS Volante does not have a price (it says it costs 0 cash), while the Treasure Hunter version has a price (550k). Since you made all special editions cost the same as a regular edition car, shouldn't the regular DBS Volante cost 550k as well?

EDIT: ... Yeah, when I tried to buy a Silvia S15, the game crashed. When I restarted the game the Veyron is on the title screen (like when your carslots gets corrupted in earlier versions), but my carslots still seems fine, as I can enter the world and drive my Silvia around. But if I try to go to the safe house... BAM! Crash again. What did I do wrong?

EDIT2: I had sold a car before I bought the Silvia, and in the changelog it said there was a bug you seemed to have fixed that changing cars after selling another car would crash the game. I reimported the original carslots.xml of my profile from a backup, and this time, instead of selling the BMW M1 that came with it, I bought the Silvia first. And this time, it worked without a hassle. So yeah, that bug is still out there to corrupt your safe house. AVOID SELLING CARS FOR NOW.

the server will not respond. kept saying it couldn't find registry for nfsw: says i have to select nfsw.exe manually (1.8 update 2, just upgraded from the one on the nfsw offline site)

First I un-installed all Java except my 64 bit but all for the nfsw servers I installed u45 u51 u66 all of it from the past to the present

I un-installed the python and removed the folder content as well

Rebooted the system (for shits and giggles)

Installed the java u66 needed for the new server

Installed the python (remember what the readme said about adding the python.exe to the path (follow the readme)

Rebooted my system (Again for shits and giggles)

Extracted the v1.8u2 to a folder (be sure in properties unblock it) (Windows tends to have files or parts of files blocked automatically) extracted the new server and launched it,

I did not import anything from previous and "DID NOT" ALTER, CHANGE or ADD anything from existing builds not even the all original map events I added long after the crashing started (that is for the people who assume WE ADD stuff before even trying the server to make sure it even runs)

So far un-installing all java, Python that is used for the offline server then rebooting and re-install just what you need for the current v1.8 build is working for me
My guess is something in the previous java and or python was causing issue

Try this for those having crash issue or just try for those having trouble getting the new server to even run!

Best of luck to everyone. I did not think an earlier jave would be the issue but so far seems that is the case with my issue.

Awesome!
I've tried all that before, even some suggestions from gamermca (CCleaner, removed some Java and Phython related registry entries), powerups simply do not work. Even tried older version of java (u66, u65 and one more i think u60, both 32 and 64 bit) from offline installers, unblocking, firewall etc. Even tried to change ownership and permissions for both server and phython (after all things failed), still nothing.

Server works fine, just powerups do not, i pretty much gave up on trying to make it work.

  • Make sure your firewall is disabled.
  • Make sure your antivirus is disabled.
  • Make sure you did NOT change anything in the server.
  • Make sure you have installed Java 8 Update 60 or up.
  • Make sure you have reinstalled Python if you used older versions of the server. (Don't forget to delete C:\Python27)
  • Make sure you have installed Python following the link in the readme.(python 2.7.10x86) Then, made sure to install the Python following the readme.
  • Make sure you did NOT touch Python after installing it.
  • Make sure you are NOT using an operating system that's from 2001 and had its last update 7 years ago. (aka Windows XP)

If you are joking, ok... if you are serious, no. I said yet that 1.8 is working very well on my XP. If I was you, I would be very happy that it's possible to share this great work also with XP users. It's a fact: 1.8 works very well on XP. So be happy, this means that you can share your work with more people ;)

But using XP running through the WWW in these Days is not very clever.
If it's used for a Offline-PC, it's okay, but it doesn't seems like.

Another small Bugreport (srv 1.8.2, build 1613):
- Buy 3 Cars.
- Sell the first of these 3 Cars.
- Buy another Car.
- Crash...

Thanks a bunch BLACKL!STED! However, several races, like Rockport Turnpike (Drag) doesn't have Single Player mode available. Was it normally like that back when NFS World was alive?
