Itemtype decrypter/encryper

Can anyone tell what i can do when i decrypt itemtype.dat
can i modify the item?

Hmm can someone update the link to the tutorial or explain what you do once you decrypt the file, id appreciate it :)

Choco, or anyone, can you please provide me a test function for the C++ version? I am new to programming, and have never encountered encryption related situations.

I guessed that i should use fstream to start reading the itemtype.dat, but i do not know how to initialize the string(s) to hold the data read.
I read through the source, and know what are the parameters required, but i have no idea what these paraments exactly are and how can they be obtained.

Is there a solution of the algorithm in c# too or how can i use it in c#? i tryed to programm a function in c#, but the decrypt function writes no "Amount=12345" at the beginning, but some stupid chars.

All the en/decryptors i have seen so far are written in delphi or C#. Try searching for datcryptor by high6, he wrote it in C# and provided source.

Excellent work... old decryptors quit working this one works like a charm... for those a little confused... when you run it... Source file is your .dat file you want to convert... destination file is the file you wish to create for editing... suggest .txt file... Then after editing the reverse is true... make sure save the file with the .dat extention and check the box that says Check for encryption... relaunch the program ... and your all set... I've found modifying mapdestination.dat file is very useful...
