Ok i just tryed this on my wifes comp and it works very great.Still same problim on my comp though not sure what i have done wroung but can not find the path to save this. and also one question does this make it to where SV does not login to the internet just to your own comp? When i try to save it it says cant make sure the path and file name are corect.i dont know what to do now im so confused!

GIZMO0425:
Maybe you need to create the directories first, i don't know where you are trying to save it to.
Or:
You have Windows XP? If you do, you probably need to login as administrator, as you are probably not allowed to change/create the hosts file.

For Windows XP pro, press ctrl+alt+del twice at the welcome screen.
For Windows XP home edition: hit f8 when you boot to get into safe mode, and you can login as administrator. (Default login administrator and no pass).

As GIZMO0425 replied to Tulaipo already, the localhost line does not have to be in there. I mentioned it for explanatory reasons only.

To check if you did things correctly, click start -> run
In the box type "cmd" or "command.com" hit enter.
In the black window type "ping 8008102299.com"

First line should be like:
Pinging 8008102299.com [202.109.124.19] with 32 bytes of data:

If the ip (number between brackets) is not 202.109.124.19 something went wrong with the hosts file.
(Type exit to close the window)
Like gbonner said: "search for file hosts as I found more then 1"

No.

luchiann_cj: look for the bot manual, apparently this is a common problem with SV.

GIZMO0425: Try creating a new text document in the etc directory, rename your hosts file to something else, and rename the text document to hosts. (Don't forget to set your tools -> folder options -> view, uncheck the box hide extensions for known file types, because the hosts file does not have any extension.)
If you can't, i would try the administrator login, regardless of what it says on your account.

Siamak: i just happened to read something about it yesterday otherwise i would not have thought about it either :) hosts is a great thing!
