I think control is difficult, but you have an interesting point about the issue of spam.

It will be interresting to see who votes what, sadly that doesn’t seem to be a feature.

Self-promotion on threads that are not their own is very annoying, especially when it's unsolicited. I don't think owners or representatives of products shouldn't be able to do such things outside of their own marketplace threads. If you want to be seen pay for your sticky in the black market.

I also find advertising signatures extremely obnoxious as well especially for users that are not the owners of those products.

I say you kill two birds with one stone and only allow for signatures for purchasable products to be displayed on the owner's account.

Secondly, stop unsolicited self-promotion on other people's threads unless asked.

Yeah, I agree on the forum posts of unofficial Legit providers, they shouldn't be telling people what is detected and not detected, a lot of the times I will see these forum's thread owners getting pressured by the providers to change the status because they have some type of ties to that community. I've seen many keep the status as UD when it was DT in my experience in the past. If they want to make suggestions to users, and provide useful information to help buyers make choices that's fine, but claiming this is detected and not detected shouldn't be on the thread owner's unofficial thread. No thread owners should be making claims for products they don't own or develop. I think better wording should be used, like known to be safe, known to be unsafe, rather than claiming a status that is always variable.

Agreed, especially regarding undetected vs. detected status.. Many individuals are often misleading customers.

I voted for the 2nd one. Not everyone is as rich as the others than can maximize the marketing. The small and new ones does that self promoting a lot of times and I believe giving them a chance is fair. we all started small and did that at some point and its good to see sellers growing by self promoting. Also it's not harming anyone promoting your self on threads where users are looking for cheats. its basically just a competition who has the best pitch and thats that

I think it's important to remember that Epvp is a market above all, with sociability serving a secondary purpose (keep in mind that the social aspect of the forum is largely driven by product discussions).

Ultimately, it is important to find a balance that improves the community while maintaining accessibility for sellers to market their products and ultimately make money - remember, sellers play an important role in keeping the site running through status purchases (Elite and Premium), e*gold, donations, and more.

I still believe the solution proposed by @[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] will be the most effective. Either introduce a new purchasable option in addition to Elite and Premium or add it as a benefit to the Elite membership and adjust the cost accordingly.

SIGNATURE ADVERTISEMENT

I completely disagree that signature advertisement is a problem. For starters, it injects money into the community, as sellers often recruit advertisers using e*gold, which they need to purchase. This benefits three entities: the sellers, the advertisers, and the site.

Moreover, signatures can be disabled, making the complaint a controlled annoyance.


UD / DTC THREADS

In the past, there have been issues with thread authors showing favoritism, failing to list developers, not updating statuses, and generally lacking transparency, which has required staff intervention. If you encounter these problems, simply report the thread or join the Epvp Discord and bring it to a moderator's attention for intervention.

These threads are extremely important to the community and should be maintained in an unbiased manner. Fortunately, the vast majority of current authors do maintain these threads with integrity.

Side note - just because a thread author doesn't update immediately when asked doesn't imply dishonesty; most of us managing these threads investigate claims first. However, if there is clear evidence of bias, bring it to the moderators attention.

I agree i am not sure that a big pocket should make it allowed to spam promote everywhere.

You just said it yourself, it’s a competition with promoting in other peoples threads to maximise awareness about a providers/sellers product, and it have been getting a lot worse lately with lost post in threads relation to a product/shop promotion in some sort of way.

It’s harming the actual debate people wanna have on the Forum, there is a reason why the black market is the only place for sale threads, why shouldn’t self promotion be in there too?

New user profiles or accounts with fake +rep is everywhere promoting shops/products, people do get scammed by it and it is annoying people that wanna have a conversation in threads and not want their comment flooded with “Check out my bio” or “Check my shop i got what you need”, all of these are biased comments and are worthless if anyone is actually looking for a good product/provider.

So no i do not agree with you, self promotions are getting worse and they are flooding the Forum with biased posts.

Elitepvpers isn’t all about being a market, i believe it is more about the communication in the Forum, the most viewed & commentet threads are on the Forum section of elitepvpers, but the black market do play an important role in elitepvpers, but i do not think you should make the rest of the Forum worse with promotion flooding every thread with self promotions, so people cannot when have a conversation.

There is no product discussion with post looking like “Check my bio” or “I got what you need” these posts are simply killing every conversation on here without a doubt.

I already have my opinion about the paid to spam promote rank here, in my post above.

I don’t see any reason why signatures should be removed either, they don’t do anything obviously bad.

Legit & scam list are an important evolvement on elitepvpers, they play a key role in protecting the users/buyers, but they should be more transparent.

I made a notice to one of these threads owners some time ago about missing products on there, they are still not added even tho they are all working and haven’t changed status.

If you're uncertain about how to interpret the content in the link I provided, as of the time of writing, 84% of recent posts (154 of the 184 new posts) are in the market. Of the remaining 16% (30 posts), 14% (26 posts) are still market-related (such as threads on the best providers, best VPNs, etc.), and 2% (4 posts) are not market-related at all (such as say hello, coding help, etc.).

Sociability is chiefly a byproduct of the market traffic.

How about a sub-category added for each respective TBM section? Adding "Call of Duty - Requests" beneath "Call of Duty Hacks & Cheats" this then banning external advertisements outside of this? That way it's all controlled to some extent, with users being offered the ability to post their request threads there, then simply enforce the remainder which slip through the cracks via change in rules // ultimately just asking the moderators to move the thread if it's in the wrong section.

Yes, 0x41^4 is correct in saying elitepvpers has subtly shifted towards being more TBM focused over the recent years. However, from someone who was using the site when it was still epvp.de, this was never the case. Socially the platform was thriving back then. The shift recently towards being primarily focused I think is due to the overall decline of social interactions over the years. Back when I started here, it was primarily used to share free exploits & ideas. I never really looked at it as a place to trade, more a community of like-minded individuals :o
