I totally support your application and hope you the best of luck.
Well, I think elitism is more of a problem than a solution for our little community. I'd rather encourage members to be more elite - encouraging better code quality and enabling members to refine their abilities (whether that's in art, client modding, server programming, web programming, etc). I do agree that we could benefit from having a community member as a mod, though. I hoped I could help fill that vacancy since it's been years since having a mod, but we'll see. I'm grateful I have the trust of the community, but asking the admins for their trust is a big ask.Quote:
As one of the original community managers of Conquer Online since beta - having solicited the sale of and launch of the official servers in tandem with TQ - having experience in community management of other private servers and knowing of Spirited Fang's general history here on EPVP as a pro lurker; I concur with the sentiment that Spirited has shown a dedication to the community which has been slowly draining from the experience pool over a long history of the CO epvp community.
We could mince some meat and call out his past - or accept who he is today and what this means to the community today. A lot of vitriol in CO2 section comes from folks who are simply tired and done with the money grab tactics which result in an overall loss of player base.
It would be beneficial to the community if there were a policy in place and a requirement set not just for format but also to police exploitative and repeat offenders. If you haven't been here for years to get to know the names and trustworthiness of the devs and teams yet you wanted to get involved you would be burned right out of your desire to participate.
For some of us - it just took being hit over and over by others while carrying a torch of "I love CO, I love this community - I'm here for it" - This is called ElitePvPers - I for one advocate a return to the core of elitism - there should be less threads with more value.
I hereby vote yes - I want spirited to moderate my tone, my words, my posts and my efforts to reach the community so that there is a known concerted effort to protect the community that I may operate within and feel more connected to. Otherwise we can continue this cycle of abuse - your decision.
