Does it matter where you repair? I let three monkey kings hit me to 0 dura then went to tc and repaired at the storekeeper. Then I tried to up and 4 mets failed. Maybe I'll get lucky on the 5th....

Sounds like a good trick but, it didnt' noticeably help increase my odds on my lvl 57 elite +3 troj armor. Would it help to loose another 8 dura by bringing it down to zero again?



nvm 5th failed as well. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

This trick was used for high level items. I doubt it makes much of a difference on lower than 87 nonsupers. I'm not sure if it still works. I haven't tried it recently

didnt work on lvl 100 boots (got dura down to 13 or so) upgraded - success - but no socket

were normals tho - just for the test of it :)

need dura down to 0 he said. And this wasn't to get a socket i don't believe.

This isn't for a socket it is for upgrading lol. I dont think it works on quality upgrading either.

I'll give it another shot when I up 87-100 armor. So far I'm not impressed ;)

Elite+3 level 87 trojan armor --> Elite+3 level 100 trojan armor = 2 mets

5 mets wasted, elite lvl 100 > 115 robe, didn't work

I don't think it is really a trick. I think it was just an elaborate guess that some guy tried out, and got lucky. The item probably woulda upgraded normally. So far it seems like it's too divided to call it a real "trick" or "exploit".

Dropped 11 max dura from my super +4 lv 82 tao cap... didn't upgrade in tc -.-

Blew around 80 mets on it in tc before trying the dura trick, (that's where the other 3 dura point drops came from), then another 10 after the dura trick.

Ended up still having to do it at the market for 40 mets -.-

I'll have to try it again at 112, because this cap hates me. I shall let you all know how i fare, :).

My frend used this dura trick on his elite trojan armor +5 1 sock from 110 - 120 by using 5 mets only
Mebe level does matter? The higher the better chance?

we've come to the conclusion that this does NOT work for upping Trojan armors, Archer coats, and Warrior armors to 120. Over 80 mets put into an elite+4 1 soc archer coat and they all failed. Over 50 put into a Super+5 1 soc trojan armor, all failed...


HOWEVER, to further support this, my wife upgraded her robe (super+4) from 100->115 in 7 mets. Since I began using this trick, it has not cost me more than 6 mets to up ANY of my own gear, and anything not being upped to 120 has worked just fine as well (except for 1 friends super+3 earrings, which refused to up from 97->112....)
