The-dura-trick

I never sell mets, only use them for upgrades. I am sick and tired of going to MetZone and finding 10 other ppl hunting coz met prices are so high (150k+) and ofcourse players find them a profitable venture. Hoping to bring Met prices down here is a trick you can use to upgrade your gear with one to five mets no matter what gear level or quality!!!

Step 1: Wear your gear down to dura 1 (one)

Step 2: At dura 1 (one) you will receive 5 (five) warnings that dura is too low, after 5 warnings dura will go 0 (zero)

Step 3: When dura goes to 0 (zero) repair the piece of gear immediately. Max dura will drop 8 points

Step 4: Upgrade in TC. Should be able to upgrade with 1 - 5 mets

Reasoning: 8 point drop in max dura is the equivalent of 100 + met failures. The Artisan does not know whether the dura drop is from met failures or wearing down the gear. He simply knows max dura is reduced.

This is a tried and tested method and it has always worked at least for me and my friends.

interesting.....but i just wanna know one thing...is it a surety that after dura 1 it goes to 0....i never went that low...i dont even know wat happenes when u keep using it after 0><

he is correct it does give 5-6 warnings before going to 0 dur, now once it hits 0 dura it will give a warning at top left it will say the max durability of item has decreased.
now if u leave it at 0 too long it will break in full and be lost
the easiest way ive found to do this without loosing gear is make sure everything but what your lowering dur on is at full dur, go to a secluded spot or a spot where people wont pk u cuz they think your afk and your gears gonna break etc. get a good group of 6-10 of whatever mob hitting you at once (my preferance is mag based mobs you can get more of them hitting you at 1 time) now just let them hit you heal when necessary but heres the fun part
be in a place you can scroll from
pull up your stat window and watch your dur when it gets down to 5 watch it closer when down to 1 keep an eye on it as soon as it hits 0 and the msg posts hit your scroll hotkey. i dont know how long after it hits 0 that you have but so far doing it that way i havent lost anything. if your unsure about it dont do it :) of course use at your own risk, and if your unsure but wanna test take a crap item you pick up item hunting like boots for say where them and let them hit 0 dur then watch and see how long before they dissapear :)

it automatically gets fixxed in the end you end up with normal duration once the item lvls

It took 4 meteors to upgrade level 100 super +2 trojan armor to 110! :D

This guide was made and copied from Atropos. This person is NOT Atropos, Of this I can guarentee.

Now, about the trick.

You get your dura to 1, and you get 5 warnings. When your dura reaches ZERO, you will get a System Message, saying "Dura of <Item> has been decreased!". THATS when you should go back to TC and repair. Your dura will drop 8 points, thus 'tricking' the artisan into thinking your gear is low level. Atropos Upgraded his Wife's (MissSofie's) Super+3 Robe from level 87 -> 100 by doing this.
