Spam an advertisement. When the trade is initiated, check for the appropriate amount of gold, load up your item and complete the trade so you can merc. afk.

Link, personally, I'd use it to store items on alts.
It'd be pretty convenient to have a bot that automatically accepts any trade in that particular scenario.
