Yes, you need to pay first otherwise the tool doesn't open.

Surely also gravity works, be sure you have siege mode disabled, just in case you're playing as aethertech you need to enable siege mode.
Also be sure you hide the overlay when ever you're done adjusting.
You can also adjust all hotkeys at the traymenu of the hack, you could try to rebind the gravity hotkey to something else.

The hack still works in the 5.0?

Yea the enhanced animation has a bug at EU currently, I gonna fix it in few minutes.
