Mabipake-esque [Release]

We did. I sent in ticket after ticket, post after post, e-mail after e-mail with pictures and video proof and tutorials of the exploits we found to Nexon Korea, and Nexon NA. I had email lists of all the GM's, none of them responded, and no acknowledgement from any part of Nexon was given that they had received and understood what I was showing them. It is literally as I said, making it so abundant, and so widely abused that Nexon would have no choice but to take action was the only way.

It was a misunderstanding on my part, I was given the file from a person whom shall be anonymous on Tarlach. I was not made aware the file was special in any way, nor did I think to check for copyright information in the property details. I thought it was just an updated version of the receive mabipake already publicly available. When Yiting was upset by my release of the file, I realized what it was, and then removed it. In my tests, neither sending nor receiving packets did anything and I tested on several other computers I own to make sure. So I thought "Whatever, I'll just release it anyway, kirisame, when update will still work regardless"

Heh, well there are varied views on how it should have been dealt with, but what's done is done.

Well the main point of using receive only pake was to use mod_kirisame or some other memory mods, but that was about it. It wasn't meant to go full on 1337 hax0rz for people.

Well if you want to help find a way to bypass the stupid Themida scan I'll happily release a working patcher, that's really the only problem at this point.

kirisame isn't hard to get working, even when I didn't have pake. The only problem is crashing when changing maps.

I basically made a pake like mod_ loader. It just has no send or receive functions.

Do what you will; I would have done so myself if I didn't have, well, life to tend with.

Fixing all of Kirisame is simple, making a mabipake emulator isn't, on my part anyways.

This part i can vouch for. Marck was telling me exactly what he did originally in hopes of trying to get it patched. Hell calling HQ didnt even work. I tried that one. told them i was holding the game hostage. that was funny. the receptionist didnt know what to do. then when she transferred me to a dev i got this. "file a ticket" *click* it was funny. didnt even give me a chance to say all the ticket numbers that where filed out back when it was bad.

I can vouch too, I was helping them with this part. Not as active as Marck and Skitty and Tsunari but, yeah.

i did everything through nexon while marck and tsunari took it a step further. the way nexon handled everything did make me laugh.

If you want nexons attention why not try the mabinogi forums? Just post crap and they would respond since the gms actually look through the forums. If you do it enough times with multiple accounts to the point the other members talk about it nexon might take action. They might just ignore your existence and delete your post; fallowed by an ip ban. You can just change your ip and make more accounts thou so your good.

What's done is done. Though I do suggest, should the need arise again, the public is asked for ideas on how to go about the problem.

Why bother? There's only one way to get things fixed, and there will always be people who don't have the balls to do what has to be done to get things resolved.
It would be super special awesome if there were a better way to get things fixed, but, there's not.

Besides, what the hell are you QQing at Marck for anyway? Who was it who runs Mabinogi anyway, and ignored your plight?

By the way, it was pretty obvious that things were FUBAR for a considerable period of time, if the people who now QQ about having lost everything were really concerned, they wouldn't have logged on until Nexon fixed shit.

you can never make everybody happy. the best you can do is what is right even if it doesnt make everybody happy at the end of the day you did it and you can sleep knowing that you took that step.
