Yes I have my firewall set to allow it.
Yes I have the correct extension in my hosts file.
Yes it is read only.
Yes the GameGuard emulator folder is setup perfectly and apache is on.

Why does this crap keep happening to me =/
hosts file does not have an extension (not that i'm a ware of). below is my hosts file info:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.

# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com

which setup did u choose to do, mine or phatal808's?

The extension is not in your hosts file... it's for the hosts file itself. The hosts file does not have an extension. Also make sure that gameguard hasn't made an additional folder where your hosts file is. If another folder was created then delete it.

idk, but by putting that hash in front of the ip it tells gg to dl rev 1060 from their actual servers. pls someone correct on this. i believe the hash is used as a comment command, much like the ";" and "//" in other programming languages.

so, by "commenting" ur loopback addy u are actually dling the actual gg files and not emualting gg. i know because i've done this on previous attempts like a month ago. like i said, someone can correct on this...thanks.

# is for commenting out in other words you might as well not even have it there. The1AndOnly123 has no idea what he is talking about.

well its working for me now with a # in front of it .. moonbot is working perfect

if u read my previous posting about getting gg emulation setup then it should work beautifully cuz mine still works fine.

1. installed abyss web server
2. add this line 127.0.0.1 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com to ur host file
3. created the directories GameGuard\2Moons\RealServer under C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs
4. placed the rev 1059 files in GameGuard\2Moons\RealServer
5. deleted old gg folder under bin folder.

u cannot edit the host file when abyss is running cuz it won't do u any good. edit the file prior to running the web server. make sure that ur not using the bypass at the same time as emulating gg. other than that, everything should be fine. let me know if ur still having problems.

laters.

well i follow those steps still didt work maybe it got to do with the settings of my router like opening ports for abyss???
10/21/2007 02:59 leonidas024#27
i didn't have to open any ports on router....u might need to check if your i-sec/firewall is allowing abyss to pass through.
11/19/2007 17:12 nirvana1979#28
rofl that actually worked thanks The1

I did as exactly as phatal808 wrote in the first post.
But when i start 2moons, i get gameguard error 380.
It says: "Failed to connect to the GameGuard update server. Try again later or if there is a firewall."

What´s the problem?

Go to :
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

There you find the file name 'Hosts' right click and open with notepad.

At the end of this file you will find the line -

127.0.0.1 local host (note it will be the last line of this file), add a new line after it.

Paste this at the same location.

64.93.92.5 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com

64.93.92.5 2moons.acclaimdownloads.com

try this for the gameguard error

well helped for me

i am getting message:

cannot connect to the server

when i am trying to start game with shopkeeper bot
well i downloaded

rev 1059 this file and i got some Data´s
and no folder or stuff what to do?

1. Goto C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and edit the file hosts. Clear it out unless there are things in there you know you need and add 127.0.0.1 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com. Now save it making sure not to change the file extension.

2. Right click the hosts file and make it read-only.

3. Download the GameGuard Emulator.rar file found here Rev 1059(realserver) found in luckyjol's post. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

4. Extract it to say your desktop.

no problem then step 5
i dont have the folders or should i create them?

Need helpo with step 5 and 6 pleeease
