Silkroad its hard to emulate. Develop silkroad emulator takes much time.

Silkroad is a game of MONEY , not fun.
if you want "fun" you can expect it from SREvolution emulator. thats all.

they will create their own project(MMORPG)

Well even with a professional team of coders it will take a few years, making an mmo is not that easy, or everyone will just code one =P. But if its haxing pieces together sure its doable =P, making it right with all the necessary tools is on another league.

I respect all opinion, but I think if there are professional coders, they will try fix the official server files.
I do not believe that trying to emulate (or create emu, whatever) a server will be a success.
:)

sometimes thinking straight isnt enough, you must see, a lot off possibilities between the 2
fro example:
  • server files will guarantee stability(at least without mayor changes)
but emus will make that mayor changes possible just by a change of code(big or little)
  • server files will have all features included(of course outdated stuff)
emus are easly adaptable to new clients
  • Server files are not public, and emus are at least close source

But honestly, is there any successful emu out there? Server files will always be the key. Instead of coding an emu it would be far better to just start an own MMO.

+1, but, emus are good too, when they are sucefully coded, just see how many lineage 2 and wow private servers are made from emus.. alot! it's not impossible, but requires more work.

Server files, can be easily managed but theres the update problem.

I already moved on from silkroad, official servers are ruined and the private ones which exist at the moment are awfull.

Yes they are, all current private servers (Mysro / sjsro etc) are running on the public files :)

Its public for everyone , but not for free.
Edit: Anyway its kinda funny to see peoples is paying to Zszc and other servers standing on stolen joymax files. I understand more peoples who are paying to joymax. Atlast joymax is doing something more than hosting.

emulating silkroad is quite easy in comparison to other games like aion, wow etc.

its getting annoying... zszc end coming like earth end in 2012 :D

Well good bye to zelos then, time to uninstall it from my PC.
SRO just isn't the game for me anymore.
