[Discussion] Its time to speak out

DM, on the contrary its really appreciated how you run things around here. you guys do a great job keeping these forums up and decent for all of us normal members.

However one issue I will address again, is 9net9 has no rights because 9net9 is situated in china, and in china, it is illegal to make any bot for any game, unless you have a license for the game - or work for the company that makes the game.

So unless 9net9 works or is endorsed by TQ, he has no legal footing to stand on.

Moreso, if TQ does license 9net9 secretly, they would never risk any legal action at fear of largely discrediting their own company.

You understand these right? SV in itself is an illegal program. Links to uncracked versions need to be removed, if you guys are going to support a warez free enviroment.

And yes I agree, give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for life. :bandit:

I had answered. It is the matter on how we handle copyright.
It is not the matter of SV is illegal.
We do not have copyright issue with link to uncracked version, because it is uncracked. You could get agentking from 9net9 too.

Ya I'm a noob... low post count whatever like you said. This site does have plenty of pompous assholes like jungleboy2 who try to lash out to feel like more of a man or something of the sort. If you really have a major problem with the warez distribution then contact those corporate powerhouses such as Adobe and report epvp to them. That way maybe people like jungleboy2 will actually have to learn to do things for themselves instead of leaching off of actual programmers and flaming them afterwards.

yes, glad to see you understand.

but I still push this fact: SV is illegal anywhere. China, Germany, Canada, anywhere. China has set out laws against bots unless they are licensed by the game programmers. SV is not registered by TQ, so this makes it illegal - even if you can download it for free.

Just wanted to point that out, not a big deal though. (^^)

I am glad to see this issue on warez resolved. Now I and others know to report ALL Warez links. Thanks for your help and patience DM / A1. Feel free to execute your full power and close this topic, seeing as its settled. :bandit:

Item farmer is a method of looting alot of items, basically running 5 - 7 clients all using SV to hunt.

Matt, excellent post.

Glad to see someone catching that. I agree that theres some pretty shady rules around here about what can be posted. I think its a matter of what is actually being enforced. They are so worried about a cracked SV being released (big deal, right?) that they miss the real programs being cracked.

Oh well, DM and A1 do a great job, no complaints or anything, just saying that you had a good point.

heymatt, i dont know if u know chinese cuz i do know @_@. according to the report published in china in 2003, SV is, so far, not an illegal program. why? i really dont wanna translate and summary the report.....so dude, i just want u know, sv is not illegal, but it does not make it legal also. proved my point :)
05/15/2007 06:47 bone-you#24
uh. The bot might be illegal in china if all that is true, but it wouldn't be illegal elsewhere since they CAN'T hold copyrights TO SV. Since there would be no copyrights, there are no lawsuits. I'm not saying it should be posted. I don't use it. I don't even play.. but the same rules should apply to everyone. Even if they are contributing.

ok im confused by some of this but from what i get sv belongs to no one in the sense of no one will take responsibility for it (being illegal). So no copyright as matt said i think. So im not following the problem with it. yes it could be illegal but not in terms of copyright?

*off topic* jesus that bush picture makes me lauph every time i see it....hes such a joke XD

I love this forum ^.^ DM rocks and this conversation about legality is very amusing. Well, continue your conversing, I'll sit back and watch.

^(that's Knitzation(my language) for I agree with this quote)^

Really though.... In my opinion, if something is illegal, the cracked version of the program is also illegal, which is why epvp doesn't provide the link... NOW FOR MY ARGUMENT AND RUIN THE TOPIC(as always)

Matt, your saying that since posting a cracked SV can't be on epvp, then posting a keygen or cracked photoshop isn't aloud to be on epvp, DM says because it will violate the copyright or something like that... you say that there is no copyright because it's illegal in china, and they can't sue epvp... of course, then DM is going to say(or already said) it's illgal to have cracked stuff on epvp anyway... BUT if SV is illegal, wouldn't destriputing illegal software be illegal? If so, wouldn't that mean epvp should forbid the posting on SV alltogeather? I thinks so...

If my argument actually has some grounds to stand on(Really?) then poppypop will be alot angrier... >:)

I see where you're coming from.

I thought this discussion was over?

SB1xyz, if you could please provide us with the origonal untranslated paper, I would be gratefull.

Sirithis, yes it is illegal, because of the kind of program it is, and because of its place of origon where said programs are specifically illegal unless licesned by the creator of the game the program is made for.

knitz, yes. I already addressed this point in one of my pervious posts but mods have yet to give any reply to that request.
