There aren't really any newbie FAQs as far as i know. But feel free to ask any specific questions and they will usually be answered. The perfect world community here is very eager to share information usually :)
Bots usually come with a .ini file containing client specific offset values. These values differ per patch, so it's important when getting a bot to get the right offset values. There are also some mthods available to automatically retrieve the offsets for your version of perfect world, but not all bots incorporate such methods.
An example would be my World Quest bot, the link is in my signature, it comes with an offset retriever which you have to run first in the same folder as your elementclient.exe. This will provide you with a .ini with the correct offset values for the bot to run for the current patch. You will most likely need to run the offset finder again after a new patch to ensure the values are still up to date. I am no longer updating my world quest bot though, I'm just naming it as an example (it will work, but there might be one or two bugs in there for some people that I couldn't reproduce on my own computer/version of pw).
People looking for bots generally look for the grind type bots though, there is the prophets bot which you can find a thread for in the hacls, bots etc section of this part of the forums. There are also a few other threads around of which I'm not sure if they're fully functional as they usually haven't been updated in quite a while. There are also still some bugs in the prophets bot, but I believe they are currently working on a different project so they might not be updating it further. They do provide the source code of their bot though, so you could always fix bugs yourself if you feel so inclined.
