I have an HD 5970 2gb but I still have framerate lag in mabinogi at times, does this game require a better processor? (I have phenom ii x4)

The graphics and architecture of mabinogi are rather old and outdated, even high end gpus will lag. I'm running an i7 2600k, 32gb 1600mhz ram, 128gb SSD and a 1gb gtx560. I still get framerate lag quite similar to my old E2160 w/ 2gb OLD ram at certain moments in the game.

I used to think it was because of the memory, changed that. Processor, changed that. Graphics card, changed that. HDD speed, changed that. I still get lag. It's just an old and outdated engine.
