I've tried twice on super 97 head gear, and wasted 30 or so mets without a lvl.

shall i share the knowledge in such a noob thread?
anyway this trick is boring since it takes LONNNNGG to degrade items dura

i have succeed in eliteing atk rings and bses with one db using this trick, still got to test it for making supers. all item levels were 10 and all the rings were 11/11 and bses 10/10 (2soc obviously). i also tried it on boots lower than 15/15 but higher than 11/11 (cant remember exact dura) and succeed after 2nd db.

That is why you fail one met first before you start to lower the durability, so the time needed to get to 0 is a lot less, therefore less boring - for example, fail one met to start at 20/40 instead of 40/40.

Also I don't think it is a noobish thread since all you see on servers is high level players wearing elites because they think supers are a waste of mets - they just do not know this method :P

Secondly if you go to magic mobs, they reduce your durability very fast, things like HugeApes work well to reduce durability very fast.

Main thing is that it IMPROVES the chance of getting cheap upgrades, it does not guarantee them, and since you will be using TC, it is a better way to get a socket in the item than market, so even if you did use 30 mets on your headgear, if you persist with this method on all your items, you will save money.

To the flamer, you broke an item, thats DUMB. I said when it gets to 0, go repair, not stand there like a jerk and let it break. Always keep your status screen open, and leave as soon as it gets to 0 durability.

To the guy who got socket, grats :) I got one in an armor the same way :)

And now they are charging 2 DBS on upgrades to high level items, I know I'll be sticking to this method more :P

How is this cheap? Have you ever tryed to fix the max durability on a item? It costs a shit load to fix it.

When the upgrade is completed, the maximum durability is repaired.

That is the beauty of this trick, you don't have to fix it. Any successful upgrade whether you do it in the market or in TC takes the durability back to maximum.

So yeah it's cheaper. It gives you a much better chance of using less mets to actually do the upgrade, and the durability is fully repaired when you have succeeded.

Try the trick before you post a negative comment.

Lol, sry for nub question, but i miself have a lev 107 archer armor (super +3) and i waz wondering if lowering your durability to 26\26 is a good idea... does it make your item less valuable?

When you upgrade it to lvl 112, it will go back to 40/40.

As for the value of the item to a potential buyer, I don't think it makes a difference personally.

k... seriously now... how do you know this works... some ppl said it worked... some said it didn't... just think... it is same without lowering dura... sometimes all it takes is 1 or 2 mets to upgrade a high lvl item and sometimes it take 50+... how do you know that it takes less by doing the lower dura... here is what i think... mets have a certain chance to upgrade an item based on a certain formula... the higher the item the lower the chance... but even a 1% chance means that you may get lucky and hit that 1%... and i think the formula takes in level of the item, quality of the item and possibly time (not sure about that)

well from my experience... stuff with lower dura upgraded really fast. like my super blade lvl 70 trying to get to 75. i used many... many... many mets on it and right after it said that the dura of my item lowered... next met worked. so i think that this method does hold some water.

another way to not let your item break use copartner and set it to d/c when dura hits 0.

chances of item breaking = lowered.
