Good, how about yourself? Thought I'd see how the 9dragons private server community is doing but can see it's still the same; everyone out for themselves. Out of any other game the private server community for 9dragons is just a bunch of people who take and never give. Every message and response I've gotten has been people wanting my data, my knowledge, my source, or asking me to fix problems with their servers.Quote:

Welcome back Saweet. How's life treating you?
Jesus Christ, that is so true. You're something else, man; wish we had 50 of you and we'd be golden. Anyway, whatever it is you're gonna do, I wish you well on that quest. Also, thanks for the work and efforts you've put in for us (long ago, the stuff you mentioned).Quote:
I've already given a lot to this community, and all of it for free in hopes it would encourage others to do the same. The rest of the community needs to start working together for a better private server scene. It's enough with the insulting and personal attacks. If something sucks so bad then make something better. If someone sucks so bad then be a better person. People will follow. Competition is good for everyone. There has been little to no progress in the private server scene since Hexpor's release. Think about that, it was 8 years ago already. Instead we have a handful of individuals who don't have the ability to do anything with them besides take other people's work and other people's money. This game is nearly gone people.
I was offering to help you by offering to give you information on the packet IDs you wanted 'if' I had the information. All of the source(s) you're looking for don't exist or won't be shared by the people who have them. We are in the same boat, so don't feel like everyone here is unwilling to help.Quote:

This is all I have to say:
No, I will not release code or packet info for the dupe methods I have, nor the refinement or item hacks, or quest hacks. No, I will not give any packet data. No, I will not give source code. No, I will not make 9Disciple for any private servers. No, I will not trade 9Disciple source for private server files from whatever year or version you claim to have. I hope New Dawn or whatever it's called is worth it for the community. I'll check back in another year to see how that turned out. But for now I know my time is wasted with this scene. I'm off to contribute to projects where people collaborate and work in open source for the better of everyone.
I'm still grateful you shared with us some basic knowledge. We took it from there and made a lot of the stuff by ourselves, in one way or another. Just a friendly reminder you were against going public with our knowledge.Quote:

There is a lot of things wrong with 9D and the stuff I found while I was working on it can literally ruin the official game servers. I don't want the game to die, but it's definitely in a sad state. The only updates the game gets anymore is 20% content, 80% cash shop. It's not enjoyable and obviously everyone is interested in a private server but the main issue is people are doing it for money, not to help to community enjoy a game we all love.
I have the same feelings as you in not wanting to share how to do it or giving my tools to anyone to use. I've only shared information with Bogdy and Shuji on how to do game breaking shit, since they were the only people willing to help the community for a while. Obviously them sharing stuff didn't work out very well because everyone in the 9D community just takes it and uses it to their advantage for their own shitty servers and fucks everyone involved, including development team and players.
Here's some stuff I don't mind showing off before I got bored of RF 9D:
auto quest: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
fast open: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
auto sell: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
instant training: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
auto refinement too but I can't find a recording of it 🤷
I still appreciate your help, despite you not particularly liking me now.Quote:

Hey man, I don't want you to think I was targeting you. You're one of the few people I hold in high regard. Why is why you're on [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] of people on my poorly remembered 9dragons post.Quote:

Well, everything you said is possible with the emulator, we plan to work on it right after 0.5 is released. This is the only way we can move forward.Quote:
I think what pisses me off is that the game still has potential, and I want to see what is possible in the private server scene. Custom in-game events, new and balanced skills, new maps and zones, and the granddaddy of them all: a new clan. That's what excites me. What doesn't excite me is the same old shit we've been playing for nearly 20 years with different experience rates and item mall items.
I am still against going public with most of the knowledge we have, it's just horrible for the game. It's also a great way to keep an advantage over other players in case any of us want to actually play and enjoy any official severs in case they come along. I am glad that you and bogdy were both trustworthy enough to keep the information we have secret and not ruin the game with it either.Quote:

As for going pay to win - we all know that's how Martin kept his server for a long time. People that played PA and Zeron know that we weren't like this. It's true Zeron failed, but it was because of the lack of the management back then. We learned from our mistakes and we've got a lot of well-known community members to help us with the project.
Of course, keeping a stable income is also a point. Not for our personal gain, just to keep the server alive.
I never said I didn't like you so I don't know why you would assume that. I respect you and have nothing bad to say about you. I have been busy with work and honestly have had no interest in working on 9D for a while now because of things going on in my life.Quote:

You're one of the reasons IMPROVEMENTS DID HAPPEN in the last years, unlike what Saweet says.
We couldn't share and wouldn't share things related to DLL injections without your consent, nur any code or tools related to that will be discussed publicly, besides that we made public few ZeroN tools, etc, but only viet privates profited from that.
P.S. We're still on the side of the community, why the fuck else would we waste time here ? Money ? There are better games to get money from than 9D, there are better places and better things to do to get money.
At a point, we asked ourselves if we can make a big project with all big names from the community, we dropped the idea, people who hope that will happen can keep dreaming, because life is quite complex, our team has a different mentality from Eclipse's team let's say, but also quite different from 9ds, so it's quite hard to make people with conflicting views work together.
Thanks for clearing that up I didn't know if you were including me in that group. If you are actually interested in some packet information I would be willing to help you if I have any of it but I don't promise I have the packet structures for those IDs.Quote:

Specifically, I've gotten PMs and emails about these things, most from new accounts or old accounts with no posts, people who won't say who they are, and email addresses that are random numbers and letters. Pathetic. I still get PMs about 9Disciple, the last release was 10 years ago people. Why do you think it has been 10 years? Does nobody else realize it ruined the game? Starting a new character and all you see are other new characters spamming quests and leveling up. Getting targeted in pvp at over 24 meters. Was that fun when you were on the receiving end? Hell no. I regret what it did to a promising era of this game. And the new era should be private servers, so I really wish people would work together to keep this game alive.

Yeah, I agree with you and I don't support sharing everything. What I believe should be shared is the basics like server files anyone can download and compile successfully. What the requirements are and so on. ZeroBurner stepped up and tried, but that was 6 years ago and still this is a problem. There's likely to be no new people to come into this scene without this sort of thing.Quote:
Then there's people like saweet who ( i am not saying this is wrong, or that his opinion is bad ) think people should be willing to open source and share what they've accomplished, but obviously we have done a lot of work on 9D. I hate the idea that someone could benefit from that ENORMOUSLY when they put NO effort into helping build that original product.
I think that's really cool. The hard part of 9Disciple was that it was a hack of all hacks. The code got really complicated in some parts because all the features had to either work together, not work together but have a sane course of action, or still work together but slightly modify the behavior. In some cases it definitely would have been simpler to release a different program altogether. But that's not what I wanted. For fun I just checked, the first 9Disciple (unreleased) was 3,257 loc, the first release was 5,423 loc, the last release for CLTB was 11,828 loc, and the last release for D9 was 14,753 loc (which had features removed, like duping and refine)Quote:
I remember when you released 9Disciple for everyone to use and I just fascinated by everything you accomplished with it. I wanted to learn how to do everything you did so I was driven to accomplish what I did. It was a big milestone for me to do more than what 9Disciple was capable of and continued driving me to figure out what was possible in the game.
That's it. It's hard for us too to deliver an emulator. There are a lot of problems, DMCA is one of the most important to be careful about.Quote:
There is definitely potential in the 9D but I can't see the long term in it when it's just an illegal skin of a game that sucks ass. The best case scenario is if one of us got hired as a developer to actually put our love into the game, but obviously it's not something that will happen. We all wish for a better 9D but the only way to do it is through emulating something that could die tomorrow and we have no way of knowing if it's even worth the time and effort put in. Emulating a server doesn't mean the client isn't going to be vaporware tomorrow, or maybe a DMCA shuts the server down if it's a successful enough clone. The desire to see a better 9D is there but actually working on it is really difficult to consider.
