It may happen if the file is read-only. Some anti-spyware software like SpyBot Search & Destroy add common malware hostnames to this file and then makes it read-only.

how do we make files not-read only(sorry for the dumb question =3)

I downlaoded hefei crash and i cant login to server :S

Click Start -> Run, type in: attrib -R %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

it doesn't seem to work (a black window pops up and then closes )

i cant login ....i dont see the servers....i did all steps

so..
first im runned the launcher and this updated the game :)
after and close the launcher.
i overwrite ninedragons.exe
i runned %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
and i write the end of the file to new line this:
127.0.0.1 localhost-9dvn
and i close and save the file..
but i cant login in to the server :S
why?:O
can any help me ?:)
or can any make it with pictures?:)

each time i try to save the new host with the new line it say's access denied

masterdoomer* some viruses may denied u to change the host but if it not the case,try login to windows in safe mode then add the line.hope this help.

how do i login to windows in safe mode(i have Win 7 64)

edit:finnaly editted the host but now when i try to open 9d diciple i get a error pop-up(when i try to download framework it says you must use "Turn windows feature on or off" in the control panel to install or configure microsoft.NET framework 3.5 SP1 but i did it by turning it on and off too but can't download it

the fix does not work anymore. when i apply it and start game. it said i can not recieve server list. please fix ninedragon.exe. thanks in advance.
