Besides, reformatting is good. It always makes my computer work much better and such. I reformat every 30 days x.x
true that, but reinstalling is such a pain =(

No no, if you didn't know about the new more elite viruses, system restore could be the very life of the virus. IE You delete every trace of the virus, triggers an alarm as a last move, when you reboot your comp, the virus tells it to restore back to a time the virus existed. It would continually do that until you turned off system restore too. Oh and others will be so well hidden you can't even type the name in something like killbox to force delete it, whether it sees it or not.

yes yes, running things in sandboxie to decompile is pro ;D
after you're done sending "fuck-you's" to the creator of the keylogger, you get to delete the sandbox :D

and yes, ESET/Nod is win

If you do get infected however, you nuke your system.

It's sector by sector. Nothing get's left behind and you can install Windows after. If you had backups backed up while you were infected, screw them.

Provided the viruses work while Windows is running, there maybe hope left.

You can turn Kaspersky 2009 into the beta version essentially making it free and you get all the updates as if you paid for it. I can post or PM directions on how to do this if it's wanted. Though if you have Windows 7 you have to use 2010. I'm sure I can point you in the right direction to making it free though if you want.
