Socket-trick

only true fact is that if there's any trick few ppl will release it to public :?

hmmm well lots of people have heard that the dura of the item is a big part of it, well someone posted screenies of them gettin 2 sockets, with there iventory window open and they had just been in the middle of item hunting, bunch of normal random items, 1-2 refineds, couple mets and a low lvl normal item with lower dura then normal that had the socket. so maybe dura does mean something afterall??

well, the thing is..

when the duratio is low, "maybe" the npc thinks that you tried the upgrading many times and so you got better chance for a sock... but i really don't know, i think it's just luck and nothing more.. ^^

Its true that market give a higher chance of a second socket then Tc rite?

I would say that it doesnt.

Durability must be full if u want to upgrade lvl... so durability don't change anything if u want socks ;)

the max dura can be different that what he meant :P after i got 3 items to sock in streak i thought i know how to socket but i failed 4 after that using my so called system lol i think there is no system to get sockets
there are things that can increase ur chance to get sockets and yes its about time/dura/quality/lvl/item and i also noticed that necklaces fail less than earrings for example i uped uniq neck to 112 from lvl 37 without single met failed and i failed 5 mets on uniq earring from lvl 52>67 so i think its alot complicated.
I dont want to share anymore from my thoughts cuz they are only thoughts and nothing is proven and i dont want anyone to flame me cuz my system dont work...
If u see me full 2 socket then i found the system to socket thingz...
And also i think dbs that are bought are more unlucky than dbs that are droped
and there is logic in this if u buy dbs and fail more u will buy mroe dbs so more cash for TQ :)

i got sockets when i was upgrading quality uni items too >.>!!

I've made 4 sockets with upgrades in my whole time playing.
Uni lvl 45 bracelet -> lvl 55 gave me one (TC)
Uni lvl 100 1 sock robe -> Elite gave me a second socket. (TC)
Normal lvl 10 ring upgrade with mets (I had half a bag of mets and nowhere to store, so spammed them, and got a socket after 3 tries).
Uni lvl 50 ring -> lvl 60 in market.

None of them were made after maint, but i made all 4 of them on a saturday/sunday. I dont see any coincidence, its just because i play more then.

I've tried all the myths, I think. Here's what ive been told.
-Upgrade just after maint (Sounds BS, people just spam mets durign that time, they are bound to get a socket eventually.
-Upgrade before maint
-Upgrade at 12:00 am servet time on the last day of each month - Time for second socket. (LOL?)
-Upgrade at the same time someone upgrades a 2 sock weapon and 'glitch' yourself a socket (0.o)
-Spam mets quickly (I macroed it with 4 clients, went through 160 mets in 2 mins and got nothing.)
-Upgrade when there are less sockets around/The chance of upgrading depends on the number of sockets on the server. (I figure thats BS, people make sockets on Dragon etc all the time, and they are loaded with sockets. I cant make one on Faith where not many have sockets.)
-Upgrade in market for second socket/TC for first socket.

I've spammed a few hundred mets on Faith and found nothing so far, so I figure spamming doesnt do the trick, its just down to luck when upgrading.

I still believe theres a 'trick' to socketing. When I played Freedom, 2 people (who shared thier accounts) made 2x 2sock earring, a 2 sock necky, sock boots, sock shield, sock atk ring. (Less than 3 weeks since server opened).

They were making sockets after items were already eilte. I think between level 90 and 110, they got a socket upgrading every piece of equip. It was really strange.

for all you wanting to know the trick to socketing..... THERE ISNT ONE... its based on luck and spamming mets or gettin lucky for that second soc. im fully socketed with a two soc necky there is not trick just lots of mets.
