Socket-trick

Hello all!

I would like to make a thread that will give out information about sockets(hopefully).

I'll begin with what I've heard:

Sockets are made random, but with the right timing you could make many sockets each day. It's a timezone of 40 minutes. I mean first there is a time (let's say 1:40 servertime), and 40 minutes after that you could make a socket again, and 40 minutes after that you could make a socket again and again and again.... Is that true?

And 2nd, the times:
Monday: 18:00-18:30 Servertime
Wednesday: 18:00-18:30 Servertime
Friday: 16:00-16:30 Servertime.

This might be wrong, but that's what I've heard. Is that true? I haven't tried out any of the times though.

And 3rd, the items:
I guess normal items is good to make sockets, but which levels I don't know.

and the last, programs/hexeditor:
This is allso what I've heard. It was a friend who sayd he changed conquer-files with hexeditor and some other programs to get sockets easier. Which other programs I have no idea. Is that true too?


I hope the replies will help people to make sockets. All this above is just what I've heard and don't have to be true. Maybe someone here knows how to make sockets and wanna share the "trick"?

Like I said, hopefully people will post with their information. And maybe even the full trick... I gave out my information and I guess it will help some to come closer to the sockettrick.

I have not met one person who knew how/when to socket and who wanted to share it with others. I have been looking for info on this myself, but most would rather keep it for themselves as to not let the competition get their hands on it too.

Well I think that unique items are best for getting double socket..

ive reason to blieve elites for 1 sock

only luck, don't have any "tricks".. you just need luck, i made all my sockets at different time

spam with mets normal low-lvl items in tc.. thats everything..

its all superstition, but if u believe in superstition..use a newbie char...apparently server realizes it has had less upgrades..so puts a soc or sumtin..my friend started a few weeks ago...and got a soc in a norm bow wen he metted it to lvl 30 :hm: ...only time iv ever gotten a soc from anything besides buying..was from star box :rolleyes:

i was told by a freind that there was a certin time in the day for a better chance to get a sock. He never tried it but he told me. I tried for 3 days on the 3rd day i got my first 2 sock item.in all the 3 days spent about 20 in mets.I havent realy tried again still reaping the rewards from saleing the itme i 2 sock.(it had one sock already when i tried)and for some reson every item i ever got a sovk in was elite.

Look i can say only one thing, none of these can be proven so to me they are complete and other BS. What they are to and and the rest out there is for you to make up your self because i cannot disprove them to.....

Unless noted otherwise, the sever maintenance time is as below(PDT=GMT-7hours):
Monday: 18:00-18:30 PDT
Wednesday: 18:00-18:30 PDT
Friday: 16:00-16:30 PDT

I wouldnt say that, on my server this happened.

2 socket necky = was made when unique.

2 socket coronet = was made when unique.

2 two socket armors = was made when unique.

Many more as well, dont know if it was luck or not, I would say not.

80 percent of my friend's sockets.. were made unique tooo including 2 socketted Boots

See im sure that it has something to do with the quality of the item.

My friend got two sockets.

Socketed armor when upping the level in TC, it was elite.

Socketed boots when upping the quality in TC, it was unique.
