Prove it?

A NEW SPELL not overwriting one

As Haydz said before, 5017 and lower patches, the MagicType.dat was in the binary form, not encrypted so you'd use a hex editor to view it correctly.
5018+ (post blowfish encryption), MagicType.dat is encrypted.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ive no interest in adding a skill to my client, so i wont go out of my way just to prove to you that its possible.

Why dont you prove to me that decrypting the .dat, adding a new skill and then re-encrypt the file, and update the various other files required, along with the neccassery image files for the skill, doesnt add a new skill :)

Since im guessing that you have an interest in doing it and are so desperate to prove me wrong.

The discussion is correct, we're manipulating and adding spells at version 5156. A side note...beyond 5127 the dat file is not encrypted at all, and can be easily edited with notepad. This is for our Psrvr btw, so there is no confusion.

Uh actually i did decrypt and encrypt it back but it wouldn't take any changes or even recognize the SKILL ID, anyway who cares who is right -.-

im sry, i didnt mean it like "You're wrong!!", i was just trying to let ppl know that it is possible, tho beyond 5127 you'll need special tools, which we had to develop ourselves.
