[Poll] Zero Pserver

i agree to disagree. i was there when diablo first opened the first zero private server, i have played in alpha zo just about till the day it fully died. i played in apoc for awhile and mech wars or whatever, i played in an unnamed one before that a friend of mine brought up. each one of em worked just as virpyre has declared, started off with high rates and then sooner or later lowered them to keep ppl around. i also vote for low rates, not as low as tq, so ppl can stay longer than a week and not be maxed out with lvls, caps, and gears.

In 5 days i got lvl 133 in real zo. If exp was already at 5x, that would happen in one day and it would suck. I would prefer maybe 2-3x server with zp drops... but not that you get full 2 soc ultra in 2 days but in a few weeks of playing.

If this is true then why are there 1 1/2 (Yours is the half since its a work in progress) zero servers and less then 100 players on them. I do agree with TQ being a failure and because of this, it is not a popular enough game for people to come to a private server.

To be honest Zero doesnt have a big enough player base like Eo etc etc u open an Eo/Co Pserver and u get 100-300 max in the first month u open a Zo server u get what 10-100 in a month...if ur lucky.anyways i agree with virpyre Low rate is good but not to low rate i mean 5-15 zp is..i guess ok but having played Tq zero since alpha spending stupid amounts of $$ on Zp the last thing u want is a server that needs $$$ donated to keep it up ok i understand from a Dev's point of view you need the cash to pay for the VPS to keep the server running then theres the release fee's etc etc.

All im saying is if u make a server stick to the basics dont add custom Npc's unless you know how to do them (Dio i know you can)same with Jay)Keep the drops the same(maybe have like weekend 2x drop event) max drops no more than 100 per box no more than 2 box's per 10 kills or summat and the levelin rate set to 50% to lvl and after 180 make it 75% that way people would stick around.just a thought and u can tell me to **** off but meh =].

I think these really low drops are not going to work. People come to a private server so they can get full ultras 180 and mess around and see all the cool shiny weapons.

in the most part yes.... especially when a new game has new private servers.... however if you look at older games like mu and their private servers, you tend to find more long lasting low rate servers than high rate servers (of course there are exceptions). the point is, ppl will enjoy the new shiny things for a short spell and get tired of them... the next goal is to become the greatest. however when everyone becomes maxed in lvls, rbs, caps, gears, etc... the challenge isnt as entertaining.

Actually, with zero private servers, theres a bug where the flame gun completely destroys any other weapon, no matter how much higher your pot is. (I'm sure all you former apoc players remember this) Until that is fixed, your pot/gems/gears wont matter.

make the exp X5 to X10 just to make it hard yet easier so that people will put work into it and wont quit after all the work

also a pk area would be amazing, with only sertain lvl people can fight eachother like 20 lvls apart

I see people walking around on real ZO all the time with shiny weapons. If all you are after is the look then perhaps a noob private server is what you are after. I would still play on a server with low drops if it wasnt impossible to obtain ZP and gain gears. It is nearly impossible on the real ZO unless you put in TONS of work. Low drops doesn't necessarily mean that you are never going to get those gears, a few weeks isnt really that bad. And im sure that once you are situated you will help others obtain their gear. The process of getting those shiny gears will go relatively fast, since its not going to be absolutely ridiculously hard. It might be a bit discouraging to hear that a server you intend to play on once it is released is a low rate server, but to be honest I think it will be more fun and competitive. TQ made you fear low rates because of their methods of making you pay cash to get those top level gears.

We should atleast see what it will be like before anyone judges that a low rate server would suck, since the only other server that is low rate is the actual ZO server... it doesnt seem very fair to judge low rate servers as failures. If they do it right, it may very well be an ultimate better version of the real ZO.
