I thougt GG switched to MD5 as standard checksum algorithm. Has anybody tested that adjusting the CRC32 checksum works for dragonica?

Hihow!
Again a trial on how to fix the CRC checksum of changed pe-files (exe & dll), as mentioned above, i havent tried it on Dragonica files but it should work.

What you need:

Step-by-Step:

  1. Unpack PEiD v0.95 anywhere on your Computer (e.g. Desktop)
  2. Unpack the CRC32 Plugin into the Plugin Folder of PEiD
  3. Start PEiD, click Options and make sure they are as folows:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
  4. Click Save and restart PEiD
  5. Now open the ORIGINAL and UNCHANGED file in PEiD and click the Button named "->" (lower right corner of PEiD) choose Plugins->CRC32 and click it
  6. Now you will see a window like this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
  7. Copy the CRC32 value and close the Plugin window
  8. Now open up the CHANGED file in PEiD and open the CRC32 Plugin window again
  9. Now paste the CRC32 value from the original file into the "New CRC" field and click "Fix it!"
  10. Now close the Plugin window and PEiD

é voila there you go the CRC is fixed and your changed file should work

hm..can you explain how does it work?

ill try and make a wroking unpacked exe for gpotato again lol. ill post a release if i get it working. as for the old gg files i think this will not work though im not sure, so will try also if it works ill post. Ty for the tu emale will press thank you XD.
Edit:
Does not work for gamegaurd files. Some other sort of check must be goin on other than crc32. Dont think it works (not 100% on this) for the exe of dragonica as it still wont let you get past login screen :P

Though im sure this could be involved in a solution in some sort of way, as it does not work directly. still its a nice handy tut so ty
