Patch shard/gs for the rates, I recommend you to do it manually and avoid using any patchers. There are atleast 2-3 tutorials around epvp where some good people explained it with a way that even a potato will understand. Then change rates in your server.cfg and also do not remove the green book let it be. It doesn't hurt you in anyway but makes some bugs that you won't be able to resolve later. Like.. you go there botting/grinding for 5 hours and after that you won't get exp/drops/etc.. :)
