I understand but can't he just tell me that? I see him going from offline to online status but he doesn't have time to reply to the people that pay him? Too bad.

I'm more concerned about my server than the money right now, as far as im aware the dude knows his stuff when it comes to exploits on sro files, I hope he doesn't come back at me.

I have been telling him all day that if I do not get an answer by x time I would chargeback, I just contacted moneybookers and my credit card company.

I'm not sure which exploits I'm afraid since I don't know whats out there, but I do know that he is the one who came up with the most common ones right?

Right now what I have done is close every port that is not needed to be accessed externally, but for example server is randomly crashing every 2 or 3 days and fatal_log doesnt tell me much:

That lovely exploit isn't an exploit, I had it once and fixed it normally.
It was just a problem with Windows/SQL.
I had windows server 2012 and SQL Standard changed both of them to Windows 2008 r2 and SQL enterprise and it worked fine again.

I did not say it was an exploit, I also don't think it is since every port is closed I don't see how can anyone send packets over. I'm running windows server 2012 with MSSQL 2008 r2.

So I'm back from drinking khebaps. Anyway, just reply me back on skype when u read this (or msgs at skype), isozy.

I can confirm he replied and sent me a few files that i'll have to take a look, I'll report back later, so far so good, better late than never.

// Edit: Oh well the files are just 2 .txt's with the values for Hex editing the server files, too bad I paid for the full job so I will not be hex editing or compiling anything, I'm sorry to talk like this, but I'm just frustrated at the lack of professionalism around here, he went to 'sleep' lets hope that doesn't last another 48 hours.

For the record, so you guys know its simple stuff for a guy like him, all I asked for was a custom vote for silks with anti cheating, a refferal system and to secure/update my server executables.

No offence,

Chernobyl isn't a business owner, he does things for people and they pay him, I think he has the idea that you have at least 5% of an idea of what you're doing, that might be why he sent you the values.

Not really and that's not the point, the point here is that he is been ignoring me since the payment has been done.

It's not like that because after making the payment he told me that he will have to access my server to fix the stuff, he didn't mention sending any file and I never told him that I wanted x fix for x thing, I asked him to do the web development for vote4silks, referral system and to secure my server, not anything specific.

If it serves of any consolation:

I'm not saying I'm naive and that I can't do the task, I'm saying that if I paid $150, its not worth me doing it. Eventho I have no idea what this will do to the executables, excerpt:
PHP Code:
004C2FFA   0000             ADD BYTE PTR DS:[EAX],AL
004C2FFC   0000             ADD BYTE PTR DS
:[EAX],AL
004C2FFE   0000             ADD BYTE PTR DS
:[EAX],AL

0x00457b33
-> 0x1005
0x0045ab37
-> 0x1005
0x00484f8e
-> 0x1005
And I have no time to be testing or messing around with it, if you want me to do it at least comment the code and tell me what's it fixing so I don't have to be "testing".

In theory, once you make a 'trade' like this, you basically start doing business, isn't that true?

Yes,

but that isn't my point. when you buy from people online, you can't expect 24/7 customer service, professional work, etc

because, he's not the CEO of a business, he's just one guy, if you know what I mean

What the hell are you talking about? 24/7 customer service? He didnt respond for 2 days after the guy paid 150 bucks to him. If anything you should at least be updating every couple of hours or so, not responding when the person is threatening to chargeback.

You don't get my point, but that's not a surprise.

This is the internet. If you buy something from a user in a forum, you're 50% likely to get scammed. If you don't get scammed, what you ordered has the chance to take a shit load of time to arrive.

And obviously, anyone would reply when threatened with a charge back.

What I'm saying is, no matter how much money you spend, whether it be $1 or $1,000 dollars, the odds of you getting the outcome you HOPED or ASKED for is highly unlikely, as this is the internet.
