Forgot to mention: Newer version = better. that fail theory which's controls everyone's mind is so idiotic. I do not feel the sense of being loving the old version of any sort believing that it's better than the newer. They do not update versions for no reason.

You guys are posting smth you don't even know about. have you tested it? or just reading the changelog from any other fail forum would be perfectly helpful to get noticed about the new shits? and no, it does not take space from HDD; even I don't care if it does or not. I got 2TB HDD.

No. there's still windows updates each month are available for windows xp. It's on iptorrent. and they noticed that SP"x" will be updated for each windows version like that.

Windows 2000 sp4 -> 5
Windows xp sp3 -> 4
Windows vista *They said there'd be no update for vista version after windows 7 being released*
Windows 7 sp1 -> 2
Windows 8 -> sp1

I haven't used it, but I've read the changes on Wikipedia. By the way, do you seriously think Microsoft would make any breaking changes at this point? Windows 8 wasn't received very well by desktop users. Do you think that they would make it worse by breaking compatibility? They have enough experience with this to ensure your old stuff keeps working in one way or another.

Ofc is winxp still updated and will be updated, but support(also updates) will stop summer 2014.

To the win8 thingy... it is CLEARLY better than Win7. If you doesnt like the new GUI (which also CLEARLY got better in 8.1), make custom changes. (Classic Shell etc.)

Figuring windows xp can't run any decent modern game anymore (directx 9) it's quite useless for gamers.

Either way, I've been using windows 8 for a couple of months now and I wouldn't want to change back, I can't even remember the last time I've used the metro UI. Install classic shell and it will just be a better version of windows 7
