Unfortunately this doesn't always mean that your in the clear, but thank you for posting that and helping out. The last conquer.exe supposibly had some external connection it was making. We have used several different conquer.exe's with our server, due to the fact that we allow players to have multiclients (we limit miners by ip etc), and we also gave clients out for fps unlocks etc. Not sure which or any were making the connection, but hard to argue with the screenshots from the last servers thread. All I can say is that if your honestly worried about it, dont use the autopatcher, and use your own client. We will never force you to have an autopatcher or anything running for this reason. To keep up to date I will provide manual patches you can download to keep the new content such as garments etc.

You do realize scanning is useless 99% of the time, right?

still denying it eh?

Unless he was infected himself with a worm that was targeting Conquer Clients then I guess there is a bigger possibility to get hit by a thunder shot by Zeus than the client being infected by a "mistake".

Tbh. I don't think they have the slightest idea of how a gameclient works, not to mention how network connctions even works. There is no way this would be pulled off without them knowing it LOL.

#edit.

Done arguing.

I've been playing PTB for months and there's no virus or anything it. Its the best classic server out there no doubt. DeadNought just doesn't get laid enough so he has to be a dick :P

The server is nice, they kept it simple but its not too boring, ive been playing it for a few months now. sucks that it got re set but i have a feeling its gonna be better than before, seeing how everyone is on the same level now. you should at least check it out, it's pretty cool.

Please read the previous Project Throwback where SkyTearz & I provide proof that these people will mess with your computer and have you take part in what looks like DDoS attacks against others without your knowledge.
It's not even the same client or .exe youre referring to, and the person responsible for the last client is no longer involved with the server.

I don't think you understand. That's not the issue, it's the fact they're still denying it ever happened.

I know how it looks, and no the situation. What you fail to realize is I lack the knowledge in C++ or any other language capable of such things. Can I prove that? Nope, cant prove that im an idiot when it comes to anything outside web languages or C#. So you can either take my word on it, or not. Best I can do is try to find the origin of the client that we downloaded to use, and check that as proof. (Possibly by an upload date or something, no idea)
05/22/2013 14:40 Super Aids#26
You don't need to know any languages to pull this off. All you need is the tools.
05/22/2013 14:44 Korvacs#27
Your judged by the evidence presented, the evidence is that the client at one time or another has had backdoors and been used maliciously. There is no evidence to suggest that you don't have the ability, or knowledge to implement such a backdoor, and there is no evidence to suggest that you wont do it again.

So you are judged accordingly, and rightfully so people are attacking you over it, stay away from this server and any other associated with him.

Ok then, don't have the "tools" lol.

@Korvacs I never questioned why they are arguing. I see their point of view. Just stating the honest truth whether you believe it or not.

Yes, "truth", tell me more.
