Stop with the Instant Level Pservers

It's not hard to secure your server.
You people think "oh you were DDoSed so you can't secure your server"
You do realize what a DDoS attack is right?...
Yes you can take measures to prevent it easily. Yet those are small attacks.
Which most attacks here are smaller based.
There is no way to prevent a massive based attack though because it completely overloads your network with connections.
So no what you people QQ about is the DDoS attacks. Which is not security based.
It can happen to anyone. Even you. So stop with that.
A hunter with stealth you say. At least someone is trying to be inventive.
People will complain about something no matter what you do.
That's the way people are. They ask for things and no matter you do what it's not what they want.
You are clearly only thinking of what sounds good to you.
Yet you have to realize you are one person.
People that listen to peoples suggestions and put them in..get those same people complaining again because they can.
I say again what's the point of leveling in a private server? People just ask for the exp to be like x300
Which you can level in 30 minutes.
What's the point of that?
It's not like you farm for anything when you are leveling.
You level to level then farm to make your toon how you want.
If people can jump in and instantly farm don't you think that sounds a lot better than doing a stupid grind for 30 minutes?
I know a lot of people would agree with that.
Shaiya X tried the farming and slow leveling.

Lol you're right, what do I know what Shaiya is. Because being inventive doesn't mean it has to be fair to other people right? No, of course not. If you want to over power a class, just take all the other classes out and save yourself some time. Who said anything about 30min leveling? It's possible to level and find useful gears to help you get to 60, or any other PVP zone you chose to go to. Also you take people's suggestions and leave an open poll with constructive feedback & majority wins. Of course you need to use your head and judgement, and decide whether or not that suggestion would ruin the server. Is common sense a rarity around here?

Yea people complain, and complain. They don't appreciate anything anyone does. So here is the solution then! Close all the servers. >.> yea see my sarcasm there? but you are right, posting here is pointless because people are too naive to listen and consider another side of the story / opinion. They only think of themselves. No one is right but them. So let's keep it at that alright and save ourselves the drama. Lol

and thats why it shouldnt be done like FIRST lvling, THEN farming, but both at the same time. honestly, i hate farming. you always have to stay at the same spot if you want something, and you are FORCED to farm there to get it, while when you are lvling, you are free to level wherever you want. see something different, kill other mobs, stay out of PvP Zones to avoid being farmed yourself!

the most interesting thing was lvling back on OS. i remember days, where i lvled the whole day in Pando, and didnt got bored. i asked for a group, once i found one, i lvled with them, then they had to go and i was alone again, searched for a group again just to notice that most of the ppl of the next group are the same again :D we had fun, we chatted, and we killed, and it was really funny to level. sadly, thats NOT possible on pservers anymore due to the players being so damn spoiled of full instant uber PvP servers, that they prefer playing there instead of building up a big community on one server again like it is on the PvP servers now, which would give the advantage of having such lvling groups again!

and its a worthless argument that you dont wanna play lvling servers bc you never know how long they stay online! just look at classic! it was online for about 5 months! and it couldve been online even longer (and it was retail btw), the only problem was that nobody actually joined, and thats why they shut it down. it was safe, it wouldve been online in 2 years still i swear, but now due to those lazy ppl, it is down. but at least someone TRIED it >.<

OK i have to interject my opinion here.
If all i wanted was to join a server where i killed the opposing team and everybody had the same thing I would Play a FPS Game. Not a RPG Game.

Although i have to admit in the old days when servers lasted there was time to level up and get geared up to PvP.
Unfortunately most servers today are so short lived. even with instant leveling and instant PvP. your PvP rank means nothing when you have to restart on another server every month or so...

Somedays ago i back to OS , now i'm already 55 HM and i rlly like to lvl up , farm etc , i just tired of this server's ( 97% free ) , someone just need made good pvp/pve server .

I think it all depends on the player! You are a player that wants a challenge, you don't want to feel like your gear and items have been just given to you! I totally understand. However, there are allot of greate farming servers out there! You just need to look for them! The servers that usually are on the voting pages are instant gain, but the servers that are more hidden and for family and friends are more a server for you i think. I know of many servers that have what you are looking for. Just take your time and make a post and ask for a good server with what you are looking for, and I'm sure you will find the next server for you!

Ya know, I see no one here wrong... every single reply is correct, just different perspective. Everyone who has left OS Shaiya has done so for their own reason, but two main reasons top them all:

#1. PRICE: I knew people who spent thousands on OS and would continuously keep doin so to keep their UM alive, and when the ran out of money to spend it was nothing but religious OI runs, farming 5s off to AH board, repeat... just to buy a conti or a 2bil linking hammer just to break it. Became farming for conti gold just so you could farm.

#2 SLOW Leveling: For some the slow nature of the game was not fun, many who aren't very social didn't care for the parties and would prefer just to play their game & be left alone. They liked the style of the game, to fight & pvp but didn't want to go through the rest.

Where case #1 (which was myself) would thrive in a grinding server, something close to OS just a bit customized & sped up slightly, Case #2 belongs in a straight to pvp server where they can spend a couple hours a day happy just kickin the opposite factions rear if they can. Fact is there is something out there for everyone if we just look.

Personal Opinion: The part that bugs me really is how many on private servers play for the 1st time on private servers... never experiencing the game for how it was intended & not understanding the concept but still have room to complain about any style of server. One thing I've seen over years of playing Pservers is most of the best players, least QQers, & most friendly bunch of players sit & reminisce about old times on OS, the epic battles for Kimu Room, Dwater PVP, Weekly fights for CTI runs, funny ass conversations in grinding parties, & many friends we still have today... So to the point, the Pserver community could use quite a bit more of the Work for your crap, put in the time, slower but not 1x servers, but don't go at it half-way. Do it right... and make this game what it was made to be.

There are a ton of high rate servers for case #2, but these come & go like the wind. But not enough of the old spirit of the game left in the pserver world.

There is too much generalizing going on in this thread. "Everyone wants this" "Noone believes that" etc. It's impossible to make 100% of our community happy and QQ'rs are part and parcel. Some people change their minds from one day to the next. How many of us have multiple pservers installed on our harddrives?

Yes, server populations are low and splintered compared to OS. Yes, Shaiya is getting older and the infusion of new players into the pserver community will probably slow down. (seems that there are as many new mmorpg's as there are new pservers)

As Mabe said above, try taking your gaze off the Top100 lists. There are a lot of "hidden" servers out there; some instant, some otherwise, some for you, some for me, and the best thing we can do is enjoy it while it lasts.

IMO farm servers are fabulous when donators dont get everything handed to them lol. Yes donators keep servers alive and for that we all thanks you but there are just to many now days I think.
I like the occasional PVP server where you get sign up jump in, get geared right away and chase people around the maps xD

if it would be that way, it would maybe get something interesting again, but usually its Camping the outnumbered faction either in Jungle or DD, and thats boring

You Are One Of The Most People Who Are Playing Shaiya.
You Know There Are Many People Who Like PvP And Don't Want To Waste Time (months) To Get Ready For PvP.That's Why There Are Servers with Instant Leveling And Free Gears.
But What You Say Is Not Correct.
You Said Free Gears
- Yes Most Of The Servers Give Starter Gears To Be Able To Start The Game , But If We Want Better Gear We Have To Donate Or Play Events To Get Them.
I Think These Servers Are Well Balanced.If You Prefer To Spend Months On Farming Play OS.
The Private Servers Are Unique Thats Why It's PRIVATE.Why They Should Be The Same ??

Everyone has their opinion of a perfect server. That's why so many people make them.
It's no longer up to the players. It's what the "Admins" want.
Which is really sad.
Yet in a general sense most people want this and that then change their mind when it's added.
So it's really hard to listen to what people want...like I said before in the posts on this thread.
