C# Express adds a load of garbage handlers to the program so you dont have to tidy up your own memory usage as you go

YES im bumping a month old thread, but atleast this one is interesting >_>

I decided to check my usage on our vps so heres the results:

nice, yea i believe mem usage really depends on the pc tho, lol

I think its more the OS to be honest, my pc is way higher spec than my VPS, and my memory usage is higher

Whats this for, it's not gonna be memory usage that kills your server, it would be CPU usage. Most good computers have 4gig memory, and your < 20mb servers ram will hardly effect that.

It's to see how well your server is put together, if you were to have say 1,000 people on at a time, you'd probably use more memory than 20mb. Not that anyone's server's will have that many, but it's just about efficiency.

My server uses negative memory >.>

Memory is not the way to see how well a server has been programmed, CPU would be, less cycles the better.

instresting never thought of that, but i suppose it makes sense

what OS does your vps use...? looks like some v. of windows
11/30/2008 09:45 Ian*#30
That's probably a Windows Server 03. I'm just guessing but based on the newer looking Recycle bin and older style toolbars, it's probably that, or just XP.
