So far, everything works perfectly fine, except a lot of the buttons on the interface are jumbled. I would like to use the older interface like in the 5517 client, but I'm not sure where all those .dds files are. I've already extracted the ani, data.wdf, c3.wdf files. Am I missing anything?

This is what I am seeing:

The dds files for Conquer Online's user interface is contained in data.wdf and the folders I will mention. Once you decompress data.wdf, all of the client's user interface will be in your client's data/main, data/main3, and data/interface folders. The interface is then linked together using gui.ini in the client's ini folder.

Thanks very much, Fang. That is EXACTLY the information I needed. I kept switching out .ini files to figure out which were controlling where the buttons were placed. I checked GUI.ini, but a lot of the text entries were unreadable characters, so I didn't want to mess with it. I took the GUI inis from the 5518 client and placed them in the 5721 client. This fixed the interface issue for me.

One other issue I am having with graphics is the items that were integrated from 5721 client to the 5518 client do not show proper item icons in the game. They look like Stanchers. I assume these icons come from data.wdf as well and are in the ItemMinIcon and MapItemIcon folders, so I would need to extract the 5721 client's data.wdf and place the contents of those two folders into the 5518 client's folders replacing those files or adding the new ones at least since I dont want the new interface icons.

I've taken a couple hours writing this in a form of my process... lol

So, I tried extracting the new data.wdf, but the extractor said there were no files to extract... I dont understand? The other data.wdf in the older client would extract. Is there something different about the new one, possibly that will not allow the extractor to extract the .dds files?

Hmm, that's an odd problem you have. I just tested Korvac's WDF extractor (that I link to in my tutorial), and it works on the current client (5727). If you're running Windows Vista or higher, and you're extracting from the Program Files folder to the Program Files folder, then you might have to start the extractor using admin privileges. Make sure your client isn't corrupted as well. Reinstall the client and see if you continue having the problem. Good luck.

I tried extracting it from a different location and also running it as Admin, (even though my account is the admin) and it seems to have extracted, so I am going to see if the files are there for pirate and assassin items now. :X I hope so! I'll edit this once I find out. Thanks!

EDIT:

Okay, so, I extracted the data.wdf and c3.wdf files in the newer client, and copied those to the one I am using. I even tried copying those two files to my client, and in the game, all pirate and assassin items still show up as stanchers, and since I changed my source for players to be able to equip the rapiers, etc, they equip, but the character doesnt look like he's "really" equipped with anything. Am I missing something? T_T I thought the .c3 files controlled what the items shape/dimensions/animation were in the game, and the .dds just controlled the image of what you see wrapped to that shape/dimension/animation?

The best solution would be to update your server, not your client. I unfortunately can't help you with those kinds of findings. I don't know what you've tried and what you have yet to try, and there are simply too many files for me to list, especially from the top of my head. You'll have to dig around the client until you figure it out, or update your server instead. As far as item icons, make sure they're added to your "ItemMinIcon.Ani" file.

I understand. The bad thing is, I don't know why a lot of these files won't extract anything, and especially if the new client (should obviously have) the .c3, .dds, etc files for displaying the new items in the game. So even if I copied everything, it seems it doesn't matter... Still doesn't work. I changed in game so the items can be equipped, and the info and everything shows up... just not the physical item as it is equipped, etc. It looks like I'm using my fists, and yet, the calculations still happen for the weapons o_O

I guess I'll just have to play around a LOT more. :x Thanks for replying, Fang! Also, do you know how I can tell how the .dds files are named? For example, I saw somewhere about the first couple numbers were the item type, the 2nd were the level or something, etc. but the information wasn't complete. If I could figure this out, maybe I can find the .dds files and everything for the new items.

All files need to be linked to the client using one of the client's ani files. As I described in my previous post, to make item icons appear, you needed to link the item id to the icon using the "ItemMinIcon.Ani" file. The same goes with most other graphics being used by the client (with the exception of a few).

Ohhh! Sorry, I guess I didn't understand the first time. I assumed those .ani files needed to be extracted with the WDF extractor! I didn't even try to open them in Notepad. Haha; Alright, One more time I am going to try to extract the .dds for the ItemMinIcons and whatnot and then I know for one that the new client has already linked the .dds files-- I checked that-- So I just need to get the .dds files from the new client to extract! Thanks!

By simply creating object files using 3dsmax.

I think he means the trees that are already placed on maps. How can he move them to different locations or add new ones? I think that's what he means, anyway.

yup
i wish that any one can help

Adding trees is a bit more complicated. You need to edit the dmap file itself to load in the scene file for that tree. It's quite a lot of work if you don't have the appropriate tools to do so.
