New Shaiya Private server on the Making

well it is possible to make an ep3 server if you have the needed files (and I'm sure that someone should have them....somewhere >.< ).

About the custom items, the point of them is to give a server something different from the rest, because having already so many pservers, its kind of boring to go test some of them and find that they are all exactly the same, so the admins have to give the server something that will attract players to the server

no farming and bombass pvp thats what atract players
much players left in ep4 on OS because it only was about the money, more money u had beter u were.
About custom items if you think having godess accessories with +20 each stat base and accessory lapis with +50 stats or 60 gears looking yellow with 50 each stats , no wonder why your server doesn't work lol.
some people loved playing shaiya the way it was and they still do.
again look at shaiya unknown before it closed. they started with 5 people after 5 days 90 ppl online and the next 2 weeks at anytime btw 370 and 450 players online to 500+ in the good times then a douche started to ddos it cuz he was too nub to use skills or know wht to link in his gears.
why do you think so many people came to that ep4 server? why unknown was even beter than any other ep4 PS?
i think the difference is not about custom items but just about the staffs.
moreover having customs items will just put a handicap in your pvp balance.
get a good staf make some good MMs , medisu events, castle raids etc... thats what make a server so special, not dev admin or GMs that dont give a shit about their players.

well....that i know about....i have never had a server before (but if i have had one, please someone send me the link to it cause i want to see it), i have set a local one, just for my personal usage, so, yeah its not about if it worked or not....

And what you think of a pserver is kind of too plain for me, because you can get the best staff and everything that you have said, but if you just took the game files and lets say....just changed the exp rate & drops....well thats a server that everyone knows, nothing special, nothing that will attract people to it, because it would be a server that everyone would've played already

And about the files, well i haven't been able to find the whole "folder" of them so I'm missing a lot of files of it...

who said people wanna play a " fantasy" shaiya? thats what im trying to tell here....
people loved shaiya ep3/4 the way it was, why changing it.
and about the staf im sorry but on most of private servers, you see GMs once every 3 days and get 2 MM a week.
you never wondered why ROTC, unknown or shaiya Elite worked so good?
not bcuz you have flying mounts, customs lapises or gears but bcuz their staff is online 24/24 7/7 and hold events everyday.
( even if elite haz customs 60 sets wich are quest items so avalaible for everybody , thanks lilpro )
i'm sorry but you take Shaiya Elite without lilpro it aint be the same at all
you take unknown without eros or VB it wouldn't have been unknown. It haz been the most played ep4 server and had ( out of 59 weapons that were dropable in game and item mall ) none customed thingies. just old ass godess set, lapis and skills.

it's quite hard to make an episode 5+ server if you only have ep.3 files, but it's obviously possible (and not hard) to make a episo 3 or 4 with a episo 5 set fo files. (simply remove / disable items, features you don't want).

a puzzling point over these exchanges, and it is present in quite *all* "PvP-only servers" discussions, is your comments regarding drops (yes farm-drops, I don't know other kind of drops !). most of these comments start with "ppl want PvP only", and 3 words later "and the drops shall be this or that" (with a middle to long list of who drops what).

so, 2nd point, not only is it easy to make an ep. 3 server but it is also easy to actually have a PvP (only) server; where "PvP svr" would mean, being able to do PvP at proelium with a 15er, or PvP at Canta with a 30er or PvP with a 60er or 70er *immediately* after toon creation.

it requires more or less 10 lines of SQL (and a registration page with a "Choose your PvP level" combo) to create toons at level 15, 30 or 60/70. of course, the tailored script will create toons with (balanced!) stuffs and gears.

if the purpose is actually to do PvP, I wonder why it's never the case.

Just thought I would do some editing, lol, but realy, if you are going to have 11 stat points then go EP4 you can always add the EP5 maps and gear into it.
