Hello everyone,
Finally all the issues we had on
Redic are now fixed and it is stable at the moment so I am here to clarify everything happened ever since the server was put online...
I know I was not responding on Discord. But, I've been really busy with the server as I almost did not sleep/leave my PC ever since I put the server online. But, I have been updating Flint with the situation so he could keep you guys up-to-date. However, I would like to tell you what happened on
Redic. At the very first of our Grand Opening we've had a promising start (experienced few delays due to hpp. But, it was really easy to fix) The bad part is not everyone could launch the client properly because our client is kinda different (vsromax) and the way it works with our library is a little bit tricky it crashes on infected or low performance PCs. Because, the library initializing is being done too fast before the client is extracted to the computer's memory. But, I connected to 50+ PCs through teamviewer/anydesk on 8th of March to fix it for the players because I wanted everyone to enjoy
Redic. The highest peak was at 600 players online (2700 registerations - 75% could not login due to client issues mentioned above) that was really unfortunate then we had the first problem which was the website went offline due to massive requests being sent (ATTACKS) to the webserv (took me 54 minutes to fix) then the biggest issue showed up the
SQLI because haters gonna hate there were a lot of attackers been trying to exploit the servers they managed to perform an SQL Injection attack (Editing the database) they used that twice before I apply MeGa's patch to add 10,000 silks to everyone and I can tell this is really BIG neither me nor a lot of friends never seen such an attack being performed. Because, the one we are aware of (Fortress War NPC) one is already fixed.
I honestly checked out everything that could have done that and eventually MeGaMaX & I found out it was an SQLI attack was performed. Afterwards, our filter's agentserver decided to lose connection. Therefore, y'all got disconnected twice. But, Muhab showed up and gave me new version of his filter & the problem was fixed. Then our Hyperfilter host went down several times (due to system failure which was undetectable by Hyperfilter technical team) and then I reinstalled the system at 9th of March around 3 AM. I wasted your trust and I really can't find words to describe how sorry I am -.- I worked my ass off for months on
Redic also the team spent a lot of efforts to have that quality server. And, trust me we are way more hurt than any of you could be. I am not only developer of Redic. But also, an Investor Flint and I spent $4500+ on this project. But, actually this is nothing compared to the efforts we spent. Due to the issues we had people who have donated and would like to refund please contact the resellers to get your money back.
Conversation with a well-known attacker in SRO field (Before G.O within 3~4 hours):
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (New stuff = exploits/attacks)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (Gateway = login server he attacked it/Asking for $ obviously)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (Gateway = login server he attacked it)
He was one of the attackers exploited us. And, we know there were more of them. But, unfortunately we could not find a proof of their existence. Hence, I wouldn't mention them here. It was like a war with the attackers. But, eventually everything was fixed and stopped them.
What's next? I am mentally, physically and psychologically exhausted. Therefore, I doubt if I will ever be hosting SRO project anymore because all of the hate I've received in the past few months and I don't find a reason for it all I wanted is a fair-competition.
However,
Redic will remain ONLINE until the last solider and I will keep working & providing updates if any of you still find it fun to play. Because, I promised a lot of you I would do whatever it takes to keep
Redic going.
Sincerely,
Crayon
