cheat engine comes with a tutorial, you should try it sometime.

look for speed by following the speedhack thread, after that back up 1 offset (-0x2BC) and find a pointer to your pawn (like his shows)
after that you have all the values.

or hook up the sdk and just pull your local player from it.
