Looking at the guide it says that VM installs Windows. Do you have to have your Windows CD in for it to work? Or does it do it on its own?

I used my own Windows XP Pro CD

Yes you need a cd or .iso

How much RAM did you alocate to the guest?
07/30/2008 15:17 bonngamer#185
Default Location in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Server\config.ini

prefvmx.useRecommendedLockedMemSize = "TRUE"
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100"

Default Location in: Your ".vmx" file

sched.mem.pshare.enable = "FALSE"
mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE"
MemTrimRate = "0"

Then you can input it there =)

I didn't really know where mine came from. I installed VMserver, VMware Workstation 5.5.2, WMware Workstation 6.2 beforehand. Might had been a leftover :S

On a side note, I had found it in my C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Workstation too that time. IIRC (if I remember correctly), I edited both config.ini.

Nixis... The way VMware is right now, it's not entirely ready to "play" Cabal... only to use bot or make a shop.

Also those screenshots look like you have graphics turned up. Make sure to tweak the sh!t out of it, especially the guest. Keep your game windowed and at the lowest resolution as well with no effects, etc.. Don't expect the guest to perform at a playable level unless you have a very high end machine, preferably fully overclocked and tweaked.

Like Sub asked, how much ram did you allocate to each guest? 512 should be good but with 3 gigs you should be able to do more if you want to try.

BTW... AMD sux nuts. :P
08/03/2008 17:35 NixIs#190
512 MB Ram. But with CPU 50% its not good. I can't start Cabal twice. toooooooooo much lagg ^^
"
EDIT: I tried with 1GB no. Only CPU is the problem. Need better CPU.. taskmanger says "vmware-vmx-debug.exe is 40-50% utilization" (i hope this word is the right word "utilization") and in guest 100%. You say only for bot .. i cant go to bot spot -.- or other else. I cant configure my bot. Cause i cant move my mouse so fastly. Maybe this beta is not good for my CPU.. maybe i need to wait for update.

That's all in the guide my friend. Yes you will need to install Cabal on the guest (inside the virtual machine). Think of the virtual machine as another computer that will need Windows and Cabal installed. The only difference is that you won't need additional drivers to have it run. When you install VMware the drivers VMware installs "connect" to your existing drivers for video, network, etc.

EDIT: Ok I must have explained the shared folders in the second guide I was gonna post but if the install goes well it should show a shared folder on your desktop. When I get home from work I'll find that info and update you with exact location.

I'm playing a private server, i guess sfrankv it's probably the same for you

I tried with VPc, Moka5, and now VMware, but always the same error.
