what missing on sro is teamplay, I think this is most important thing.
I was missing that ,But when i joined a group that was playing in a private server together,I really enjoyed it.

I hope this thing that Pax has going on resembles the League of Legends team work system.. that would definitely attach over 80% of the sro scene's community.

65535 actually (2^16 - 1). You have 16 bits, so 2^16 states, but you also need a zero state, so minus one for the maximum value.

Yeah, yeah, I got confused. I was thinking whether should I put 65535 or 65536, but I decided to write the latter. Don't know why.
Thanks for the answer anyway. :D

I just got one dream...that sro will be the same like it was at 2005-2006

Check out my signature to find something unique which wil take part of vsro players, its new game based on sro graphic, i think this is eventually a way for the future.
Will your server be Free2Play, i think its something special!

I barely go on EPVP and barely post. not to mention I don't even read anything SRO related anymore.
but I thought it'd be nice to catch up with everything that's going on with my all-time favorite game and read some threads here on EPVP.
and I must say @Yo, this thread really inspired me. I've read throughout most of it and I was really surprised and happy to see how everyone want this game to fulfill its true and "old time" glory.
I was also really impressed by Pax's work, I don't even need to try it, the thought and creativity are enough pleasure to my eyes.
some posts here really made me want to have these old feelings.
PvP at East Donwhang, unique hunting, job wars, lots of E-Drama on global chat and guild chat. ahh.. good times, good times :)

As for the main topic of this thread:
I think the most important aspect of the game (and almost every MMORPG) is the community.
the thing is, community can be killed with game updates.
and with all the trash that's coming with every new PServer, the game became like mainstream media.
people need fast and quick excitements and once the quickie-excitement is gone, they move onto the next PServer and slowly quit.
sure, new stuff are cool, high rates are cool, high SoS/SoM/Sun drop rates are cool and easy Alchemy is cool.
but all of that doesn't make the game, it can actually kill it (and right now it does).
and reality proves it. look at how popular, games like... say... MU, Metin2, MapleStory for years over years.
* talking about the PServer scene of these games.
some of these games' PServers have a steady 1,000+ online playerbase at all times. some even cross the 2,000 bar.
why? because there's a strong and powerful community that is STICKING to the PServer regardless of how cool weapons look and how much "Cash" (Silk) they get for free.
these things should be a bonus, an extra (if anything), not the main attraction.

I'm way over SRO even though it was, with no doubt, the best game I've ever played my entire life.
but if you guys want to have that experience again, my advice to you, try to stick to one server. all of you.
make that decision and stick to that server no matter what. force yourself to do that and I guarantee many of you will have this "old time experience" all over again.

Also, that doesn't end here. if you do choose such server, that server owner(s) should know he can't play around.
and by playing around I mean with the game mechanics. this is the most important thing.
adding things is just fine, but changing the core mechanics of the game is one of the main causes to what I've described earlier in this post.
for example, in my opinion, adding a new degree is fine (not saying I like it, not saying I don't), adding a completely custom made weapons (not the looks, talking about stats and such) is totally wrong.
adding new horses (just the looks) is fine, adding new horses with different speed settings that weren't in the game before, is wrong.
adding something like the "Wannabe Snow Shield Buff" back in ECSRO, is wrong.
changing rates incorrectly is wrong! for example, the EXP rate can't be 100x while SP is 20x because you create even a bigger issue, higher levels with no SP for their current level's skills, need to farm anyways (even if it is for a shorter time, it's still just an illusion).

Anyways, that was a lovely thread to read.
thank you everyone for sharing your opinions, ideas and just general thoughts.
good luck to everyone in the SRO scene, don't let this amazing game die! :)
Oriya.

Nice to see you back after years ^^

Let me explain you how things works now...
Its a new way to sell item mall items, cheating on players with everything and making an illusion.

Small example:
You enter the game because you see free silks and soon after you realize than there is another "silk like" currency except silks, and you can buy barely nothing for free silks. After that smart peoples should leave but it seems many stays because they took owners explanation that "this is only way of getting money for server"...THIS IS WRONG!. Thats how sro community gets destroyed by money hungry kids over last years.

If I'm not mistaken Oriya was the exploiter who found out dupe bug, thanks to him he destroyed ECSRO/SJSRO/SWSRO when stalls were still enabled.

Yeah, he found dupe bug, and I think he released it to the public. And I think that was his/her only mistake.
